Excellent animation, brilliant voice work, and aimed at kids rather than their parents-Kung Fu Panda delivers the action and laughs at a great pace. Michael Clarke Duncan is the standout voice playing the prison guard and Ian McShane makes an appealing villain. A great diversion from the appalling weather.
Although not nearly as bad as Shrek 3, this Dreamworks effort still suffers from an underwritten script. However, a lot more effort has been made with the look of the thing. In fact, this could well be the best looking animated film ever. This stands up much better when compared to real life kung fu movies, rather than classic CGI cartoons such as Toy Story. They may have dispensed with the annoying "topical" gags, but this is still a long way off from being a classic - and without the novelty of it being an action piece this could have easily got 3/5.
Before i heard about the film, i heard about the game and straight away i thought that it was going to be a crap little kids game but then i saw an advert for the film and it looked pure bad ass...and it was. This film has comady, a good story line, and the fightings pretty funky to...plus its only a 10er
You must see this film
Went to go and see this film with my other half and we both enjoyed it. Theres not much of a story but the comedy makes up for it. Ian McShane along with Jack Black make the film funny and also quite appealing to the older generation. Hearing McShane act in a childrens film is also very odd and amusing when your so used to him swearing all the time in Deadwood (which i also suggest you buy if you like gritty wild west programmes) and Black is as funny as ever and made the whole cinema laugh in particular scenes. Its a very good childrens film so i highly recomend it as a christmas stocking present.
i watched this last night with my girlfriend and we both really enjjoyed it! it was hilarious! jack black plays the panda really well and we were both laughing all the way through! must watch for all ages... kids will LOVE it
