A man who may or may not be Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) is found floating in the Mediterranean Sea and is hauled onto a fishing boat. When the ship's doctor examines the unconscious castaway, he discovers two bullet wounds and an implanted device that displays a Swiss bank account number. With nothing but this code, the amnesiac Bourne travels to Zurich and gains access to a safe-deposit box containing a gun, thousands of dollars in various currencies, and valid passports from numerous countries - each listing a different identity. Within minutes, Bourne is on the run from a seemingly ever-present agency, relying on language and fighting skills he didn't even know he possessed!

Offering $20,000 for a ride to Paris, Bourne gains the reluctant help of the nomadic Marie (Franka Potente). Meanwhile, the shadowy organization, headed by a tough-talking bureaucrat (Chris Cooper), sends numerous assassins (including the Professor, played by Clive Owen) after Bourne and Marie. As their situation grows more perilous, the two strangers struggle to find out who Bourne really is and why they are being hunted...

Right, for starters, I cannot believe it has took me till 2012 to watch this movie. 10 years after its original release. It is absolutely brilliant. A brilliant concept, story and plot. A little hard to understand near the start, but this becomes more clearer part way through the film, certainly give it a watch, I am yet to see the other three, but I will surely give them a watch and see if Jeremy Renner does a better job as the new main character in 'The Bourne Legacy'

 Superb !

bourne identity is a brilliant action packed film that introduces us to jason bourne played brilliantly by matt damon who for me was perfectly cast for this part.its about a hit man played by damon who loses his memory after a failed asassination attempt goes wrong and gets shot and left for dead but he survives and what happens is he tries to find out who he is but once the people who trained him find out hes alive they send all there other agents to try kill him.this film has some well choreograhed fight scenes and a excellent car chase scene in a mini car.the film has a sharp screenplay and doug limans direction keeps things going at a nice pace.overall top notch

What a film this is action packed from beginning to end and very little use of CGI unlike many of other films now. Matt Damon is Jason Bourne the used up government operative who is going on search of his true identity. It is very fast paced and the plot is fantastically constructed to bring a very entertaining and engaging film. Enjoy

 1st of a classic trilogy

Matt Damon does an amazing job on the first of an amazing trilogy. Fight/Car/Shooting scenes are all perfect and storyline is amazing!
