Zach Braff (Garden State, Scrubs) heads an all-star ensemble cast in this warm-hearted comedy drama by Academy Award winning screenwriter Paul Haggis (Crash, Million Dollar Baby). Starring Jacinda Barrett (Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason), Casey Affleck (Ocean's 11) and Rachel Bilson (The O.C.), The Last Kiss charts the emotional awakening of a close-knit group of college friends as they reach a crossroads in their lives. Michael (Braff) is about to turn 30 and from the outside life seems perfect: he has a fantastic job, a great group of friends and is living with the girl of his dreams, but when he meets Kim (Bilson), a free-spirited college student, he begins to doubt his readiness to cross the line between young adulthood and the rest of his life.

Now, i'm not usually the crying type, but there are parts in this film that got me close to crying.
It focuses over a number of people's stories and situations, and not just the main characters lives.
I love this film, and the acting is sensational, it is dramatic and it was perfect, and indescribable.
I think this film deserves a lot better credit than what it's getting now.
So five stars it is, but only just.

After a second viewing the film left me disappointed. I could not identify with the pain of all the dysfunctional protagonists. It was all so pessimistic. I found Michael's (Zach Braff) relationship with Jenna his girlfriend (Jacinda Barrett) straining, not because he had doubts about turning 30, but because it felt cold. I thought his relationship, with Kim (Rachel Bilson) was captivating and made romantic sense, before he discarded her, in an effort to play Adult ! Playing this kind of role, doesn't suit Zach, as there was no humour involved. Although I understand this is a remake of the Italian orginal. The ending where he camped outside his girlfriend's door, is over stated, and theatrically over the top. I cannot find the motivation for a 3rd viewing.
