"They say I might as well face the truth. That I am just too long in the tooth. So I'm an OAP and weak knee'd. But I'm not yet quite gone to seed. I may be over the hill now that I am retired. Fading away but I'm not yet expired. Clapped out, rundown, too old to save. One foot in the grave."

This is the complete collection of the long-running BBC1 sitcom One Foot In The Grave, featuring all the episodes!

Who would have thought retirement could be so chaotic? Certainly not querulous Victor Meldrew, one of tree-lined suburbia's perennial complainers, or his long suffering wife Margaret. When he's forced to take early retirement, Victor suddenly has plenty of time on his hands to rage against the petty annoyances of life. But there's one thing to remember in the Meldrew household - whatever can go wrong often does and it usually spells disaster for Victor...

I have been looking at this for a while and finally decided to go for it at this great price. What had been putting me off was that there was no mention of the specials that were made, only 'The Wisdom of the Witch'. I can tell you now that everything is in this set ... all of the episodes mentioned as well as all the specials: Endgame, Starbound, One Foot in the Algarve(with the brillient Peter Cook), The Man in the Long Black Coat and Who's Listening.

As well as all this there is the 'I Don't Believe it - The Story of One Foot in the Grave' program that was shown along with the last series.

If you are reading this you dont need me to tell you of how good this program is, amazing writing that builds to bizzare and very funny moments but always still feels real. David Renwick has a great way of combining laugh out loud with bitter sweet and tragic. The final ever episode is a perfect example of this, a blend of sad and dramatic and mystery that still leaves you laughing.

Can't recommend this enough, but you already know you like it. And at this price for almost a whole day of entertainment it would be rude not to.

 Bittersweet Classic!

This outstanding Brittish sitcom about the ups and downs in the world of Victor Meldrew is one of our countrys' best ever.Playing our hero is the great Richard Wilson who is aided by the equally terriffic Annette Crosbie as his wife Margaret. To be honest I can't think of one bad episode so every series deserves 5/5!
The specials are great aswell

A must for any comedy fan. It was such a brilliant series and was jam-packed with moments in every episode. Some of the first series looks a little dated and it takes a few episodes to get into it, but once the characters are fully established, sit back and enjoy the Meldrews antics. I wasn't a fan of the last episode and I didn't think it did Victor or Margaret any justice for a send-off, but it couldn't be perfect I suppose. Although I think the series was amazing and worth 5 stars, I have rated the boxset 4 stars due to the fact that the BBC typically haven't added any extras on. Surely a few interviews would have been nice!

Not just for the older generation, this comedy will appeal to all people young and old and is more for the young at heart really, Victor Meldrew stumbles through life one disaster at a time with his poor wife Margaret following behind, some very very funny moments in this show, in fact I probably laughed out loud with this comedy more than any before because what happens to Victor seems at the time completely unbelievable but when you think about it is all completely plausible, a must see comedy up there with the likes of Frasier, this is probably the best UK comedy series ever.

"I dont believe it!!!" ABSOLUTE CLASSIC!
