Based on the novel by Virginie Despentes, Manu and Nadine lose their last tenuous relationship with mainstream society when Manu gets raped and Nadine sees her only friend being shot. After a chance encounter, they embark on an explosive journey that becomes a twisted rage-filled road trip.
Baise Moi is the most important and controversial French film for many years. It's mix of graphic violence, real sex scenes and porn stars in the lead roles combine to make it the edgiest and most daring movie in recent memory.

This, I would say, is required viewing for all mature film buffs. It is shocking, graphic, pornographic, evil, squalid..but a side of life that goes on.This film portrays some of the least attractive attributes of human nature by following two young ladies taking revenge on the rest of humanity following a graphic double rape, Thelma and Louise on a very bad day if you will..., it makes a Tarantino film seem tame and I would defy anyone not to remember it after watching..you certainly do not need to worry about understanding the French soundtrack ...the horror will be burned in your memory so be warned.
A reasonable idea wasted. The hype far exceeds the film's accomplishments. The "naturalistic" acting is only "natural" due to the wood content. Merely a mash of "shocking" scenes with erratic structure. Unrealistic violence, pace that varies from rapid to drawn out (to the extent you really question whether it is worth wasting your life watching this dross!) with no rhyme or apparent reasoning and no genuinely redeemable filmmaking/storytelling qualities. Only view to say you have.
I watched this movie on the recomendation of a male friend, who I think wanted to shock me. I was pleased at how coherent it was, and while the graphic sex WAS graphic it really did convey the reality of rape, it was necessary to explain just why the two leads went on the killing spree that followed. If you enjoyed the girlpower story of Thelma & Louise and can get past the unrelenting grimness of the sex and violence and you are a woman, you will understand this work and see how important it as a film. Ignore the hype, watch the documentary that is bundled with it and relish a film that gives women back their power.
This is one of the first movies to fature full on sexual activities and scenes that WILL prove to be depressing, but to be blunt and to curt, this is an experimental mess that hoped to break taboos, but simply jusy titilated, with its hopes of "graphic"viloence, but it does not acheieve anything more than create a movie that deserves the tag line........"hey they really do it!"
Don't listen to the prudes ,this is a good film and more should be like it
