Revenge is coming

Two years have passed since Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBouef), Optimus Prime (voiced by Transformers: The Series' Peter Cullen) and the Autobots saved the planet from Megatron (voiced by The Matrix Trilogy's Hugo Weaving) and the Decepticons. Despite Sam's extreme heroics, the battle of Mission City has become an urban legend believed only by conspiracy theorists. Now he's preparing for the biggest challenge in his life: Leaving home for college. What will happen to his girlfriend, Mikaela (Megan Fox) and his robot protector, Bumblebee? Meanwhile, the Autobots work with the US military, Major Lennox (Josh Duhamel) and USAF Master Sergeant Epps (Tyrese Gibson) to track down the remaining Decepticon forces on Earth, although Nantional Security Advisor Theodore Galloway (John Benjamin Hickey) has other ideas when it comes to the safety of the human race. When Sam's college experience sours amidst nerdy roommates (Ramon Rodriguez), sexy stalkers (Isabel Lucas) and strange, unexplainable visions, he seeks to understand what the Decepticons know only too well. A normal life will have to wait, because an ancient enemy is on its way to destroy Earth! Can Sam, Optimus and co. save the day in the ultimate battle of good vs. evil?

Play.com Review

DreamWorks and Paramount reunites the cast and crew of the 2007 summer blockbuster in Michael Bay's Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen. With executive producer Steven Spielberg on board, performances from Shia LeBouef, Megan Fox and John Turturro, plus Star Trek script-writing team Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, this sci-fi, action spectacular marks 25 years since the original animated television show, Transformers: The Series graced our screens.

The second highest opening day gross of all-time behind The Dark Knight, Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen is currently the highest grossing film of 2009. With giant robots, huge explosions, awesome vehicles, a myriad of locations, a classic tale of good vs. bad, and plenty of Megan Fox fan service, this is the perfect summer blockbuster. We urge you to transform your life and check out Revenge Of The Fallen as soon as you can.

ONE OF THE BEST ACTION FILMS EVER!!!

Please ignore bad reviews of this film. Without doubt this is the best action film of the year. Nothing else comes close, it is totally awesome. As with all fantasy action films, people want to be entertained at the cinema, and this film gives you more bang for your bucks than any other film in history. So what if the plot is thin, this isn't a period drama, it's an ACTION film that is meant to be OTT. Michael Bay is truly the king of action films. Go buy, enjoy and roll on Transformers 3.

Its not a bad film theres a bit more of a comedy vib in parts of it.i think they made the film to packed with different story lines and left some of the characters without an ending. Other then thats a film you will want to see 4 out of 5

 Bigger doesn't necessarily mean better.

I've been a Transformers fan for well over two decades now, grew up with Generation 1, got caught on the recent tide of nostalgia and thoroughly enjoyed Michael Bay's first live action movie, despite the obvious differences from the franchise's first incarnation. Things change, and the movie was a blast. I looked forward to the sequel, hoping for more of the same but with a bigger scope to reflect the growing threat.

Well, more is certainly what we got with Revenge of the Fallen, there's no doubt about that. More robots, more locations, more fight sequences, improved effects. It's all up there on the screen, no doubt about that. The movie looks incredible.

Unfortunately, Michael Bay doesn't seem to know when to stop. There are simply too many Transformers on screen now to care about, and the few of them that do receive adequate screen time to get to know tend to be the more grating, comedy relief characters, while the potentially more interesting Transformers are relegated to the background.

Oh yes, the 'comedy'. There's way too much of it, and it's faaaaar too juvenile in nature. Jokes about stoned mothers, Transfomers showing their 'affection' for their new human friends, Devastator's swinging wrecking balls... I must admit the odd snigger, but felt quite ashamed with myself for it. This kind of stuff is just out of place, making it seem like giant shape-shifting robots have wandered onto the set of the latest instalment of the interminable American Pie series. And as for those twins...

A shame, because there is good stuff here. The core Transformers from the previous film remain and work well for the time they have on screen (save Bumblebee, who seems to have turned into Sam's stalker). Megatron and Starscream's relationship is expanded and works brilliantly. The human cast work well, particularly Shia LaBeouf , Josh Duhamel and John Turturro, whose comedy relief character DOES work. Soundwave is perfect as a sinister puppetmaster, keeping a close eye on things from space. And Ravage is simply brilliant.

Despite slight disappointment, I'm still looking forward to the third in the series. Just know when to hold back next time, eh Mr. Bay...?

 The worst blockbuster of 2009

Michael Bay has a tendency to make loud, dumb action movies and don't expect much from him. He's made average shares with Bad Boys and The Island. Then there's his share on making awful movies such as Bad Boys II, Pearl Harbour and Armageddon. You either love him or you hate him. Transformers was an okay fare, it was starting out and being tame. Many people talked about it back in 2007, even I did and which most likely got Bay and Paramount Pictures going straight to making a sequel. This is the result, and do I regret it.

This movie is a tragedy, an abomination to our senses and our intelligence. I tried to have fun with this film, but all I got was trash and stuck with me. They spent $200 million on this and did not see anything come out from it. All we got was dialogue so badly done (blame the writer's strike) and didn't even look they tried hard enough. The direction from Bay is absolutely embarrassing and the characters are just dull and/or intensely annoying. Skid and Mudflap are portrayed so racially insensitive, I can't believe they got away with it.

You'll get Bay defenders saying "it's based on a toy-line". We had better movies based on comic book movies (The Dark Knight, Iron Man, Spider-Man), do you want me to expect they tried their best to come up with a budget of $200 million?! NO!!! The jokes are lame and just shockingly insensitive, I couldn't believe the audiences were laughing from it. Shia LaBeouf was not likeable, and Megan Fox continues to be the most dull beauty ever put on-screen. Her so called "acting" talent is non-existent in this movie, I don't see the fuss about her other than she's hot. So? Just put a poster of her on your wall, I find Marion Cotillard or Eva Green more attractive and talented than the blow-doll every male in this world is fantasizing.

Overall, this is a complete waste of time. 150 minutes (2hrs and 30mins) of nothing!! So many plot-holes than I can comprehend. Do yourself a favour and go watch better sci-fi movies released this year like Star Trek or Moon or District 9.
