wow! you really experiance the hardship of this race as if you were there. i know that sounds cheesey but this documentry really does show you what off road racing is about. many years i have competed in off road racing but the Dakar takes the biscuit! well worth the watch

This Documentry follows Charley Boorman throughtout his training for the Paris-Dakar rally in 2006 and of course the dakar rally itself . This was one of the best motorbike documentry ever. I have yet to see Long way round and Long way down but I am sure they are as good if not better than this.

great film not as good as the long way round

this film is good but will always be compared to the long way round which is a shame as its something totally different.at least it wasnt all about ewans family for once! charley is great you really felt for him and this film really lets you ride along with the team great eye opener to just have difficult this race is. def worth watching go on what have you got to lose

I really enjoyed this programme by Charley Boreman. The beginning show's how you need to train hard to be ready for the Dakar, also what the non professionals have to do to enter the race. The programme is centred upon Charley, however it does cover allot of his team mates racing and other competitors which I thought was brilliant, and for any motorbike fan like myself you'll enjoy it, even if Ewan is not in it!.

  Boorman without McEwan doesnt work

If you want an idea of how difficult the Paris - Dakar rally is then this kind of shows you but, without Ewan McGregor, there's no warming to Charley alone and there's no chemistry which makes long way round so great. The sympathy factors lost and the whole thing becomes a repetitive Boorman rant through repetitive boring desert. Could be worth watching just to see how bad the X5 lets them down on any surface other than tarmac :-)
