One of the most ambitious documentaries on the history of the Second World War, Victory At Sea was first aired in 1952, the culmination of some two years research. The team behind Victory At Sea sat through some 60 million feet of film, footage that had been originally shot by the US, British, Japanese or German navies during the hostilities.
This film was eventually edited down to some 61,000 feet, or 26 episodes covering the Battle of the Atlantic through to the surrender of Japan and the aftermath of the war. This six DVD pack features all 26 episodes of one of the greatest war documentaries of all time.

For some reason the people responsible for this viersion have replaced the award winning score by Richard Rodgers, with music by Wagner, Prokofiev, Eric Coates and many more. This destroys the original feel of the series. For those wanting a complete 'Victory' spend a little more and buy the Oracle version.
