A joint Aussie-Japanese tv film from 1995 made on a shoestring budget depicting the last days of the war in Borneo 1945.Jason Donovan(yes the same one from Neighbours & Joseph)gives a pretty decent performance as a raw recruit trying to come to terms with his surroundings and a few Japanese who refuse to surrender.Cat & mouse ensures as he`s left alone with a solitary Japanes soldier, scoping each other through rifles and conscious that ammo is running low.Highly effective and moments of genuine tension although the ending is laid on a bit thick.
Japanese dialogue is spoken in the film and these sequences aren`t unfortuntately subtitled on the dvd.Not a major disaster as you can still easily follow what`s going on but a shame nonetheless. The picture is standard tv ratio 4/3 but besides being a bit too dark for the first 15 mins or so the actual quality is pretty good-certainly not horrible.Current play price is £2.99 and it`s an absolute bargain!
Decent movie, horrible DVD

Without going into extreme detail, the movie was indeed very thrilling, but the quality of the DVD is horrible; pretty much like watching a worn out VCR. Luckily it didn't cost much.
