Shooting Stars 2009

10/10 This is the best series yet. I have never seen anything so funny in my life.

Totally mad but hillarious at the same time, Angelos Epithemiou is one of the best characters ever created in the history of television!

I thought the old series' were ok and this series is not that much of an improvement, however, having Jack Dee as a team captain instead of Will Self was a good idea. The "cheer Jack up" section of the show is always good.. Mark Lamarr was a funnier team captain, but unfortunately he disappeared out of the limelight a few years ago, so Jack is second best. Ulrika is still as mouthy and good-looking as ever, Georgie Dawes is very funny at nearly everything he does, well it's Matt Lucas after all. The new show regular, Angelos, is hilarious at first but then becomes very annoying much like previous team B regular, Johnny Vegas. Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer even with their balding grey heads are still able to act childishly funny, however, they didn't re-vamp some of my old favourite gags and rounds and replaced them with increasingly unfunny moments, but dont let that ruin the entire experience. If it doesn't make you laugh out loud it will at least make you smile.

It's always a bit of a worry when a legendary series comes back years after it ended. On first viewing the one off special and this series were ok, but not really on a par with the memories from the orginals. However, watching it through again it gets funnier each time. Shooting Stars was always genius, and the new series is too. Brilliant entertainment.

And about time too! Now pleeease release the box set of series 1-5 as well!
