28 Days Later successfully takes the zombie genre to a new level, this movie is far more than just a horror flick. There are some great characters, that you actually care about, some you'll like some you'll be glad to see killed, but all solidly performed.
Shot on digital video, which gives the devastated cityscapes a closed-circuit-camera realism, this grips from the first, with its understandably extreme performances, its terrifyingly swift monster attacks. 28 Days later is one of the best Horrors i have seen

Some people i know found this film to be crap, but in my opinion,i thought it was great!who said us Brits werent good at making cracking horror films that make u jump out of your seat with fright?and we dont need 2 cram it full of CGI to have that effect either!28 days made me jump up from my seat quite a few times(and im not the type of guy who scares easily!)and the make up 4 this film reminds me of the days of the earlier zombie films(george a.romero's 'day of the dead',etc)also, what happens in this film will make u think to yourself'what if this really happened?'never say never, right?anyway,if u want a film to share with a loved one with the lights off and to make u jump(you have been warned!)this is for you!

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Best British Horror Film Ever?

Well, it's up to you to decide, but personally I think it is one of the best brit horrors of all time.
It is scary, dark and tense, which all add up to make a great movie. Great acting and it has a great storyline aswell.
and it is directed by Danny Boyle - what more can you want from a British film.
If you love Zombie films then this is definatly one to watch.
Long live British Horrors!

An amazing storyline, very original, it's so creepy to see London deserted. The bad-guy soldiers were a bit annoying but the zombies soon sorted them out. The lead actors/actresses were superb and this film is now in my top ten of British movies.

Loved this film! The storyline is truely superb and unique. The scenes of a deserted London are chilling and really add to the suspense.

A lot better than the sequel.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Almost flawless

I've got to say, I'm a little bit disappointed and bewildered. As modern horror flicks go, this was almost flawless. A new twist on the zombie theme, a fast pace and stupid people getting their comeuppance in the first five minutes. BUT. Am I the only person who spotted the big, glaring cop-out with regards to stereotypes?
Anyone who lives in the UK and possesses a braincell knows we are ruled by them, approved and not, acceptable and not. I'd really like to give this 5 stars because I did enjoy it, but the hero and heroine were safe bets (don't make me say it out loud) , as were the real bad guys (who needs zombies?), the, apparently, evil scum British squaddie. It's lazy. Come on, give me a break. I did enjoy it, but the cliches did take the shine off it. Mr Boyle can do better.

Horrifying. At one point I genuinely thought a little bit of poo came out.

This was the first great apocalypse film of the century, and it should remembered as such. It's a very important film to come out of Britain as it cements Danny Boyle into the same category as the greats, and sees Alex Garland become a very important representative of British cinema.

Cillian Murphy is superb as Jim; a man who wakes up to an entirely alien world and wanders completely blindly into possibly the most hideous situations without a second thought.

Seeing Jim stroll around an entirely deserted London naively calling 'hello' down the streets is one of the most tense, biting, nervous and (impressively) beautifully composed scenes in cinematic history.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars A great Brit flick

A great Brit flick and one of the best made in a long time. Not your average horror story and one that someone can actually relate to. Scenes of a deserted London town alone can send send shivers down your spine. I was genually desperate to find out how the film was going to end which kept me glued to my seat.
