Brilliant brain surgeon Banzai has just made scientific history. Shifting his Oscillation Overthruster into warp speed, he's the first man ever to travel to the Eight Dimension...and come back sane! But when his sworn enemy, the demented Dr. Lizardo, devises a plot to steal the Overthruster and bring an evil army of aliens back to destroy Earth, Buckeroo goes cranium to cranium with the madman in an extra-dimensional battle that could result in total annihilation of the universe.

CULT MOVIE, I LOVED WHEN I FIRST SAW IT

Very strange sci fi movie about a super hero called buckaroo banzai, a comic book, rock and roll band playing / singing, scientist, medical doctor, samurai. And he plays this very well. After reading this you may think this is over the top cheese, but its not. Infact while watching it, it seemed believeable. Be nice if they finally make that sequal to it now with the original cast. And for the price they are asking foe here, take a chance and buy this. I rented it from xbox live. Wish i had bought this now.

 very very 80s

Good film if you like cheesy 80s sci fi spoof. Very funny very strange but worth a watch just for the actors when they were mutch younger but i would say borrow it if you know anyone who actualy has a copy of this film even though it is very cheap not to everyones liking

God!!! I sooooo wanted to love this film.I remember seeing it first time round in 84 and being only 13 at the time thought it to be the greatest thing since StarWars,But now at 39 I realise what a rose tinted opinion I held of this disjointed piece of nonsense.Dont be fooled by its knowing wink to the audience that it knows its over the top or its attempted hommage to the pulp books of the 30's and 40's,In particular the Doc Savage stories.Even a film that takes its ideas from other peoples works can hold together if its done with the right air of skill, story telling and talent of which this has none.I defy anyone to sit down directly after watching this movie and tell me exactly what the HELL!!! all that was about.Want Pulpy escapism?Read a book.

This film is not a classic, but it's good fun and very 80's. It's a quirky film with a fun off the wall storyline and a great cast. It's well worth a watch and a great 90 minutes entertainment for the price.
