I've rated this four stars because it's a good fantasy film and is worth watching but the bad bit is that all of the movies last for three and a half hours per film ( but only in the extended films ) which I find is to long and nearly everytime you watch them you fall asleep but don't get the idea that these film are rubbish because there not. Also the reason why I think this is the best of the three of the films because it has lots of wars and violence (battles) compared to the other two which are still good but not as good as this one espacially the first which is just them talking and walking around for three hours and a half but there is one ok fighting bit. But I do recommend this to all fantasy fans.
Extremely true to the books, the three Lord Of the Rings films are absolutely superb. Brilliant special effects, excellent casting, you just can't criticise any element of the films at all. The extended versions are well worth it. They don't just add in meaningless shots, they add in critical story elements that were omitted from the cinema versions to keep the films a reasonable length. The additions change the light the story is portrayed in, and while not absolutely essential, add real depth. They can not be recommended highly enough. The books tell a huge story and long films are needed to retell the story accurately. Immerse yourself into the extended versions and you will find it well worth it.
EXCELLENT

The Lord Of The Rings dvds are excellent and the director's extended versions are the best, I just cannot wait for them to come out on bluray.

This could be the bargain of the century! 4 DVDs, the actual film extended to over 200 minutes!....and all for £9.99
It really makes a difference with the deleted scenes included and makes the story clearer. treat yourself to all 3, you wont be disapointed!
Brilliant!

If you enjoy The Lord Of The Rings then owning all the director's extended version's is a must.
This film takes up the story after sam and Frodo have left the fellowship to take the ring to Mordor. While This is happening it also follows the story-line of Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli hunting down the Orc's that have taken there hobbit friends.
This film offers more action scene's than the first film with the spectacular battle of Helm's Deep and is my personal favourite out of the 3 films.
This film includes an array of very talented actors including Orlando Bloom, Viggo Mortensen and Elijah Woods at there best.
Possible the greatest fantasy story ever told!
tolkien classic

This is quite simply, the best bulid up to a battle in cinema. Some might say that Two Towers is a filler film and the weakest of the three films.
I entirely disagree. This holds the best battle scene of the three and a great score. There are some cheesy montage sequences, but dont let this put you off.
UNBELIEVABLY GOOD!!!!!************
