with a superb acting adam sandler. you don't have to like the guy, but here he makes a statement as an actor.
the movie is a love story, no doubt, but not an easy one, not the stereotypical one. it has some twitches in it that make it all more worthy.
and again PT Anderson proves that he's a great director and a good storyteller.
don't hesitate do buy!!!
What the hell Adam!

Well if your a tradtional Adam Sandler fan you wont enjoy this film, it doesn't have the uniquness and normal brilliance adam brings to a movie. He is a brilliant actor, but he is best brought out in comedy like Click, he doesn't act stupid and his serious acting is great along with The Longest Yard. These films have the tradtional laughs at the begining then something bad happens and it gets serious until it all gets good eventually for adam and you see more great laughs this is present in every film he has done besides this and is a formula to create Award Wining Films. Look at the Disney films they often use this technique, prime example The Lion King. But i didn't quite get this film the only but i really enjoyed was whilst they were talkin about sex he said i'm gonna smash your face with a sledge hammer. But if your an Adam fan you'll buy this anyway, it's only £5 you might aswell then see if you believe what i'm saying.
Wonderful

Forget every Adam Sandler film you've ever seen. This movie is totally different, the actor putting in a serious, sensitive performance that is perhaps the equivalent of Jim Carrey 'going straight' in The Truman Show.
It's a quirky, joyful love story from the excellent director of Boogie Nights and Magnolia, Paul Thomas Anderson.
You won't find puerile humour or toilet gags in this - just a very worthwhile romantic comedy/drama that'll have you feeling slightly warm and snuggly afterwards.
Love him or hate him, this is Adam Sandler's best film!!

I know what you're all thinking. Adam Sandler - zany laughs, silly faces, slapstick humour. Well, you couldn't be more wrong. This film is a dark look at the life of one very unfortunate individual whose entire existance has been marred by the 'love' of his sisters. He just can't catch a break. One lonely night he calls a 'sex line', but doesn't find it too helpful.
The next day he finds himself the victim of credit card fraudsters (headed by the fantastic Philip Seymore Hoffman), as well as meeting the potential love of his life.
The journeys undertaken from this point onward range from the macarbre to the delightful. This film really is fantastic. The relationships are believeable and the acting is top class.
Adam Sandler puts in an amazing performance. Love him or hate him, you have to give him that!
I would highly recommend this film to anyone. At this price it is well worth extending your DVD collection that extra 10mm! To be honest, this would be worth it a twice the price!
