Jack Bauer is back for the eighth and final time in his most explosive adventure yet, but can he foil a deadly assassination plot before it's too late? Hold on tight because this nerve-shredding 24-hour rollercoaster ride features one of the most thrilling climaxes in TV history.

Set in New York City, "Day Eight" unfolds amidst the shadows of the Statue of Liberty and the United Nations as President Allison Taylor (Jones), alongside new chief of staff Rob Weiss (Chris Diamantopoulos), negotiates international security with Omar Hassan (Anil Kapoor), a determined Middle Eastern leader visiting the U.S. on a peacemaking mission. As the new day begins, an upgraded CTU operates under the command of M.B.A.-schooled, razor-sharp head honcho Brian Hastings (Mykelti Williamson), who supervises quirky Chloe O'Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub), expert data analyst Dana Walsh (Katee Sackhoff) and systems analyst Arlo Glass (John Boyd).

Cole Ortiz (Freddie Prinze Jr.), an ex-Marine who wants to follow in Bauer's footsteps, leads field operations while Agent Renee Walker (Annie Wersching) returns with an agenda of her own.

One of the most innovative and acclaimed dramas on television, 24 has been nominated for a total of 68 Emmy awards, winning for Outstanding Drama Series in 2006. Over the course of seven seasons, Sutherland has garnered seven Emmy nominations and one win for Outstanding Lead Actor; while Season Seven co-star Cherry Jones earned an Emmy for her highly praised work as President Allison Taylor.

It really is back to it's best!

I was worried about season 8. After the totally awesome Season 7 I thought that the writers would be fresh out of ideas.
However season 8 so far is looking to be quite possibly the best since the shows best years (seasons 1 and 2).
We're not half way through the season but it hasnt dissapointed yet and the way the story is going, it dosent look like it will!
24 remains the best thing on T.V.

Breathtaking end to a classic series

Never thought this series could top its previous achievements but the way everything builds to the climax allows it to do precisely that. What am I going to do on Sunday nights I wonder? Think I'll start watching all the series again!

By far the best season ever

I just saw the final episode the other day and i am now gutted that 24 has finished. the final 5 or 6 hours of series 8 are brilliant. each episode tops the one before with brilliant story lines and twists to the plot. Kiefer Sutherland is as always brilliant and probberly the thing that has been done best in this series is at the end of the final series it makes you want more.

 Strong ending for 24

Season 8 represents a strong ending for 24. Although this season is far from the best 24 has to offer (Seasons 1,3 & 5), it is an extremely strong performance and an excellent end to the best TV series ever. Season 8 starts strong with a good first 8 episodes. However the pace slows down to almost a crawl over the following 4 episodes or so. It then slowly picks up and then delivers quite possibly the most amazing run of episodes in the series history with the last 8 episodes. So yes, the middle part of this season is a bit weak, but that said there is some good action to keep it going. But the last 8 episodes more than make up for the weak middle. The story is amazingly good, the action terrific, the characters are top class and it's amazing fun to watch. It also becomes an emotional roller-coaster as the season draws closer to the end. Overall, I love Season 8 of 24 and the last 8 episodes are amazing. The re-introduction of Logan was a brilliant decision and allows an amazing story to develop. However, the middle of the season is a bit weak. Therefore this season is fantastic but the weak middle denies it from being up there with the best Seasons (1,3 & 5). However it is a bit better than Seasons 7+4 (also very strong seasons) and absolutely obliterates Seasons 2+6 (the weaker seasons of the series). I'm going to miss 24, but it certainly went out with a bang!!!

rivals season 5 for being the best. the pace is a bit slow first 10 eps to allow character building but the last 10 eps are among the best ever in shows history, roll on the movies
