Review

There are 666 portals to the other side, and somewhere in Japan lies the home of the 444th. It is here that Prisoner KSC2-303 escapes from his fellow inmates to rendezvous with a group of men who will lead him to safety.

After he realises that the price of his freedom is the death of a female hostage, he refuses to comply with his rescuers' plans and blood is spilled. But when, in the aptly named Forest of Resurrection, long dead Yakuza fighters come back to life to avenge their own deaths, a battle against these living dead assassins ensues. Soon his quest for freedom becomes a desperate fight to simply stay alive....

I have read very different reviews of this film...some people think it is fantastic and some say dull. I'm definately in the first category. If you love zombies, martial arts, guns, swords and odd humour then this is definately one for you. I pride myself in loving complex storylines but once in a while I just need a film that's all action. That's what this is. There's virtually no storyline, it's low budget (pretty much being set entirely in a forest) and well...it's just odd in places. The key for a film like this is just not to have too high expectations for a storyline...if you just look at it for action and a laugh then it's brilliant. Don't take it too seriously. The fight scenes are brilliant and there are plenty of them so pick a day when you just want to sit back and relax...and enjoy. In my top 10 favourite Japanese films.

This film is such a guy flick it's unbelievable!

Non-stop action, blood, comedy, zombies and a couple of hot chicks for good measure.

This is one for the boys (and really cool chicks).

I thought it was REALLY cool.
