Loosely adapted from Alan Clarke's 1989 classic TV film, Nick Love's The Firm is set earlier in the '80s and retells a similar story to the original - but from a different character's point of view. The film centres on Dom, a young wannabe football casual, who gets drawn into the charismatic but dangerous world of the firm's top boy, Bex.

Accepted for his fast mouth and sense of humour, Dom soon becomes one of the boys. But as Bex and his gang clash with rival firms accross the country and the violence spirals out of control, Dom realises he wants out - until he learns it's not that easy to simply walk away.

Humourous, heart warming and set to a killer jazz funk 80's soundtrack, The Firm is a classic coming of age story set amongst one of England's most revered tribes.
  • Suitable for 18 years and over. Not for sale to persons under age 18. By purchasing this product, you declare that you are 18 years of age and over.

I have come to discover Nick Loves films in recent times and enjoyed football factory and the business. The Firm brings the best of Nick Loves films together great soundtrack , great humour , risky put downs and a real sense of realism you can relate to. anyone 35-45 will get this film and 80s casual classics clobber

This is Director Nick Love's love letter to the 80's, and also his best movie to date. Loosely based on the 1989 Garry Oldman TV movie, Love's version is set a few years earlier, at around 1983-1984. The first thing that grabs you is the fantastice opening sequence that plays in with Soft Cells Tainted Love. The story this time is from a different perspective and follows Dom a young wannabe who gets drawn into the firm under the iron fist of Bex. Where he soon learns that once in, he cannot just walk away. Although violent, the movie never glorifies it. Of course there is bad language, but it's not there for the sake of it, as it's as much of the culture as the violence. Being brought up in that era, the movie really does give a great retro trip down memory lane, with all the bad dress sense, stupid hair cuts, and of course the music. The Firm is not just a brilliant humorous and at times heart warming drama, it's also a fantastic testament of the 80's.
