The Evil Dead Trilogy in one DVD set!

Evil Dead: The gruesome granddaddy of modern day horror, Sam Raimi's original 1981 classic The Evil Dead has been hailed by horror writer Stephen King as "the most ferociously original horror movie I have ever seen" and in the UK was one of the first horror films to be labelled as a 'video nasty'.
Off for a weekend of fun in a remote cabin in the woods, five young friends unwittingly release a powerful force of unspeakable evil from the pages of the Necronomicon, the Book of the Dead. Possession, murder and dismemberment follow in rapid succession as Ash (Bruce Campbell), the one uncorrupted member of the group, fights for survival against his former friends who have joined the legion of the evil dead.

Evil Dead 2: The first sequel to Sam Raimi's horror masterpiece, Evil Dead II sees Ash (Bruce Campbell) continuing his battle with the evil dead, initially in the demon form of his girlfriend, Linda (Denise Bixler). Meanwhile, relatives and associates of the cabin's original owner are en route to the cabin with newly found pages from the Necronomicon.
Evil Dead II manages to successfully marry outrageous comedy with nail-biting terror as Ash is forced to resort to progressively extreme measures in order to maintain his sanity and conquer the demonic forces threatening his life.

Evil Dead 3: Army Of Darkness: Immediately following the events of Evil Dead II, Army of Darkness finds Ash (Bruce Campbell) transported to Medieval England, where the occupants of a local castle are under siege from the supernaturally evil Deadites. Hailed as the deliverer of the Necronomicon and the saviour of the living, he must employ his 20th Century wits and skills to overcome his evil self, before destroying his possessed medieval girlfriend and the entire Army of Darkness in a battle to save the living from the dead.

Disc 4: The fourth disc in the boxed set presents the eponymous first film in The Evil Dead trilogy in its original 4x3 format (1.33:1 Full Screen Unmatted) and includes several extras exclusive to this edition, making it a must-have for all Evil Dead fans and collectors.

The quick review - AMAZING FILMS - GET EM! Okay now for the explanation. Directed by Sam "Mr Spiderman" Raimi and starring the totally awesome yet completley insane Mr Bruce Campbell these films are cherished by all horror collectors. The reason for this being the perfect balance of humour and horror, e.g. Campbell screaming "WHO'S LAUGHING NOW" while chainsawing through his own hand. INSANE - yes, FUNNY - oh hell yes. With such a talented director behind the lens and an iconic legend performing in front of it there was only ever going to be one outcome for these movies - CULT CLASSICS. This was SAM and BRUCE at the Pinacle of their careers. Trust the ZOMBIE on this one - your life let alone your dvd collection will never be complete until you own these movies - GET EM NOW!

A CLASSIC SPLATSTICK GORE FEST !

You have to buy this collection, If your a fan of over the top gore, possessed hands, Zombies and chainsaws. All 3 of the brilliant Evil Deads in one box-set. The first movie freaked my sister out when it came out on video, before it was named as a so-called video nasty, and banned for years ! she still has not fully recovered!
Evil Dead
This is a tiny budget masterclass in horror film making.
The gore is so over the top it's funny. I don't think at the time of release people got the joke. Also it made a legend out of Bruce Cambell ! The stand out scene being the card game.
****
Evil Dead 2 ( Dead by Dawn )
This is a remake of the first, but with better monsters and better gags. This is the best of the trilogy. The stand out scene being, the flying eyeball, Groovey !
*****
Evil Dead 3 ( Medievil Dead )
The final chapter of the trilogy, The film is really funny, but lacks the frights of the other two. This is still a good slice of comic horror. Stand out scene being "Give me some sugar baby "
