The season starts with the disturbing news that terrorists are to strike a massive blow against the US and Jack is launched in to another hectic 24 hours. The story is a bit far fetched at times, not least of all is what happens to Jack's daughter. While Jack is busy trying to save the planet, she is "coincidentally" launched into 24 hours of completely unrelated mayhem. Come on, really. What are the chances of that? Anyway, it takes a little while to get into this story, and there is no doubt that the first half a dozen episodes of season two are not as addictive as season one, but season two gathers pace as it goes along and by about hour six you are well and truly hooked. The pace is faster and the twists more frequent. A bit complicated for some, perhaps, but it kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through. Once again, it's just made for DVD, so you can view the episodes back-to-back so you don't lose any of the tension. One minor warning, the ending is a minor cliff hanger, and you will buy season three, so you might as well order it at the same time! Disc seven is full of extras, which are great too. At it's current price, it's an absolute bargain. If you are even slightly in to political thrillers, buy it, you won't regret it.

...because compared to the first season, it was all of a sudden, big and ambitious in terms of the terrorist threat (a nuclear bomb, and later the threat of the US going to war with the Middle East).

in retrospect, i was a tad bit harsh. its not an amazing season, but its still a pretty good one. this season is also key to the whole 24 mythology in that Jack's character has changed due to what happened at the end of season 1. the White House story-arc is excellent. while the 1st season shows that politics is dirty and sinister, this one takes it a step further, revealing an even darker world of power, corruption and lies.

the rest of the story, at points, threaten to almost fall apart, but are pulled from the brink by the characters (Tony-new character Michelle), and several key pivotal scenes such as the Islamophobic assault, George Mason (you know exactly what i mean...) and so on.

overall its a good addition to the world of 24. not the best, but coming hot on the heels of the majestic season 1, this season was always going to fail in comparison.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars A very good season but perhaps the weakest

"24" season 2 is actually better than season 1 in some ways but then looses pace after episode 15 when there is a debate about Palmer averting the suspense. This is also the first season about arabic terrorists and unfortunately is full of racial stereotypes and for me is just not as suspenseful or ingenious as season 1. Nevertheless, great fun.

Having (eventually) watched the first series I found myself hooked and in need of a daily fix of 24. Series 2 continues the high octane, high intesnity rush in the life of Jack Bauer.

An intruiging storyline that draws you deeper into the life of Bauer and his colleagues, friends and fmaily. There is a little too much "love interest" interference with the storyline that in parts increase emotion in the storyline (reson for 4*) however sometimes are misplaced and detract you from the intensity of the action.

Although Kim is often a slated character I found her development in this series quite intruiging and found her a lot more relatable in this series, making her an interesting character storyline to follow.

There are a lot of "hateable" characters inroduced in this series, ones you feel should just be given a kick in the teeth but again their chemistry really does add to the motion of the series.

An excellent addition that really does the first series justice and whilst a continuation of sorts every chaacter progresses and becomes a little deeper rather than simply stagnating as some series shows have suffered. A must addition, as thrilling and entertaining as he first and a compelling watch...

This season of 24 i found even more exciting a better storyline, more action and the characters seemed to have developed much more than in the first season which made it more enjoyable... This season was even better than the first and was even more gripping and had me watching episode after episode straight after one another because i just wanted to know what was going to happen next...
My opinion if you enjoyed the first season then buy this season, you won't be disappointed.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars The 2nd season in TV's greatest achievement!!!!

It is true that the 2nd season of the 24 saga is not as good as the first but that shouldn't make it any less enjoyable.
We find Jack now living alone and coping with the events of the season 1 cliffhanger. However no sooner does it take for the ticking clock to appear he is dragged back in to the world of terror and asked by CTU to stop a nuclear bomb from being detonated on U.S. soil.
Once again the plot is preposterious, but again it makes no difference.
The set pieces are bigger and louder than before, the show is full of exciting and un-for-see-able twists, Sutherland's acting is flawless and the script is near perfect.
The only grumble that makes this season weaker than the first is the fact that the writers seem content with keeping Jack's daughter Kim in the show. This would be fine but she seems to get rather most screen time as the season goes on and is clearly there to slow the pace and let the audience catch it's breath.
But despite this 24 still remains undeniably brilliant and with a cliffhanger ending more shocking and exciting then that of season 1, you will simply not be able to contain your excitment for season 3!!!

24 season 1 was amazing...and 2 is just as compelling. Despite you wanting Kim to either die or just learn from mistakes from the past (yes i know guys that shes really pretty)...it is really good!
Season 1 &3 are my personal favs and this would be the last on the list of 24 series, but its still brilliant and will hook u in!

Takes a little longer to get going than season 1, but has you hooked from the start. Just make sure you have plenty of time on your hands, because it's impossible to only watch one episode at a time!!!

..24 then you will be hooked.
The second series really brings to life the action and adventur in the life of CTU and in particular Jack Bauer.
Once a fan always a fan.
