In this remake of his 1997 film Funny Games, director Michael Haneke delivers a savage critique on the way violence is portrayed in the media. Arriving at their remote holiday cabin in the Hamptons for a quiet vacation, George (Oscar-nominee Tim Roth - "Lie to Me", Reservoir Dogs), his wife Ann (Naomi Watts - Eastern Promises, The Ring), and their young son Georgie (Devon Gearheart - Shorts), find themselves subjected to a harrowing ordeal involving mental and physical torture, when two young, psychotic killers come calling.

This film is not your typical horror, in any sense of the word.

It is weird and interesting, you can not possibly predict it or expect it to adhere to any conventional narrative traits.

Just watch it and marvel at how messed up and disturbing it is.

 what were they thinking!?

Considering it had two big film stars I was expecting a really good scary film. The acting was good but the story line was really bad, boring and even though you have to see the whole film to see what happens it had no suspense. If you start watching it you have to see the whole thing or you have wasted your time. My advice - don't even bother start watching it!!

 Doesn't even deserve one star!

Awful film, good cast but even that didn't save this film!
It was slow, strange and boring- even at the end i was thinking that can't be it, there must be something else?
I can only assume it's meant to be an arty farty film and that i just didn't appreciate that side of it.

I watched this film as im a huge fan of tim roth and his best film is reservoir dogs which can not be beaten but this comes close. Its full of suspense, great story and amazingly acted. Its not intended to be a typical horror film its more of a psychological thriller playing with your mind till the very end. Its very well directed with moments where the actors talk to the camera bringing the audience into the story and a brilliant moment where one of the murders actually rewinds the film with a TV remote to stop something happening. This is a very very good film and fully recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind thinking through a film and people who arnt easily disturbed. This is a remake and its a good one but still the original is better and more disturbing so you choose. 5*!

This is a disturbing but great film .Indulged ,educated people cross the line into truly plausible behavioural horror .Is this existentialism?
Michael Haneke films touch the parts that matter. Wow!
