SERIES 1
The Show is Brilliant on so many levels.
The Script written by Aaron Sorkin is the Star here, it is fiercely intelligent without being over complicated.
The main point is that you have to have no interest in Politics to become engrossed in goings on.
The characters are so well fleshed out that you feel an instant connection to them.
All the characters, big or small, play a big role in giving the show an energetic feel.
The acting is the Best Ensemble Acting I have ever seen on the small screen.
Special mention to the Actors who play, Josh, Toby, CJ and Sam and Senator Vinik.
Martin Sheen as the President is Perfect.
Each episode fells like a mini movie, the production values are very high.
The little issues and big issues that the President and his staff have to deal with are,
Funny, Tough, Heartbreaking and at times on the edge of your seat gripping.

SERIES 2
The Second Series of this brilliantly written Show, gets better and a little darker towards the season Finale.

SERIES 3
Season 3 deals with President Bartlett's re election, The MS Scandal and loads more in it's usual Fast Paced style.
The writing is as usual Flawless and the acting is impeccable.

SERIES 4.
Another Fantastic Series of the Best American TV Drama of the last Decade.
Brilliant stories, Flawless Acting and Riveting viewing
Series 4 gives a deeper understanding of who the White Staff are and more about their backgrounds and personal lives.
Series highlights were the episode with CJ and her Dad, Election Night and of course the Spectacular Season Finale.

SERIES 5.
Series 5 of this brilliant show goes Darker as cracks start forming in the administration
The show takes a slightly sinister tone at times which may come as a bit of a surprise to regular viewers
This series is better watched quickly, as it does have a few slow episodes that don't always engage the viewer.
Original Creator and Writer Aaron Sorkins departure is certainly felt.
The Performances as usual are Top Notch, with beautiful Cameos from James Cromwell, John Goodman and Matthew Perry.
The last few episodes are very well played out leading to and Explosive Finale.

SERIES 6.
Very Engaging and Entertaining Opening 4 Episodes on Disc One, so you are pulled straight into the new series
Lots of Changes happen in this series, Original characters either leave or have their roles changed.
One of the main changes is that the focus is no longer solely on the White house, as we hook up with Josh and Santos as they try and get the Democratic Nomination. Santo's character starts of slow but he gets you on side after a few episodes.

SERIES 7
Goodbye to the Best American Drama Series of All time.
The final series of The West Wing was very much a realistic end of an era transition from one President to another
Taking the place of Josiah Bartlett, The Greatest Screen President of All Time was always gonna be a very hard act to follow.
So the series mixes up White House storylines with Santos and Viniks Presidential campaigns, giving the viewer a much needed insight into how the election process works, and kind coming full circle to the Bartlett Administration.
In general the show is still very entertaining and very well written, but I feel they got the Toby Zeigler storyline wrong. He would never have done that!!!
Some friendly faces from the past return in small roles, The LIVE debate show was very well done.
Overall it is a fitting final series.

Very excited watching all the episodes! Got really glued to it. The cocktail of politics, romance, intelligence and diplomacy laced with a tinge of international politics just makes this the best plitical drama ever!!!

The West Wing follows the ups and downs of the Bartlett administration throughout their time in the presidential office. It may give a slightly idealistic portrayal of what those in power are like but with a fantastic cast, that includes Hollywood heavyweights Martin Sheen and Rob Lowe, it is one of the smartest and most intelligent shows to be seen on TV in a long time.

Obviously this is not going to be for those that like their programmes with plenty of action but Aaron Sorkin's scripts are fast paced (every conversations seem to take place on the move!), witty and even humorous in places allowing the focus to remain firmly on the characters and their attempts to deal with apparently endless demands of working in the White House. The stories are complex, knowledge of US politics or having Wikipedia on stand-by is essential, and based firmly in reality. Any concerns one may have as to how a political based show would hold up when the first season is now over ten years old are unfounded and the issues raised are every bit as relevant today, most likely promoting many a debate amongst family or friends watching alongside you.

If only there were more programmes like The West Wing and less reality rubbish clogging up the schedules.

There are not enough superlatives to describe how fantastically brilliant this TV show is. It is interesting, thought provoking, witty, gripping, touching. You don't need to be interested in politics (American or otherwise) because it is so brilliantly written and the characters are so compelling that you will be drawn in regardless. I have seen all the episodes over and over and over and over and never tire of them. I am heartbroken it is over. BUY THIS NOW!

Imaginative characters and fantastic plot. Fantastically written, with witty one liners and genuinely epic moments. The acting is of a superb quality, what brilliant casting, and this quality runs throughout all seven seasons. It's difficult to pick a favourite character, there's something likeable about all of them. Some truly awesome guest roles as well. I would recommend this to anyone with an interest in decent television and/or politics. However, this programme is addictive and life is never quite the same again once you've finished watching it. Start over again from season 1? :o)

The west wing is one of the most fantastic US drama and political shows i have ever seen. The first time i watched the complete series was online, after watching this i had to purchase this. in my opinion i feel that the west wing is worth buying as this is the cheapest price than anywhere else. There are a variety of high professional actors and actresses such as Stockard Channing , Allison Janney and Martin sheen. Both roles from Stockard and Martin have a real good connection with one another focusing on the presidant and the elections. Allison Janney is another great actress who keeps you laughing,
All of the complete series are outstanding. plus with this boxset you have the oppertunity in seeing the extra footage on the discs. This is most definitely worth buying and you will enjoy every single series.

Stockard channing is simply amazing aswell .

This is by far the best TV for many a year (possibly ever) Even if you don't understand all the complexities of American politics the fast pace, crackling dialogue and complex/interesting characters carry you along. Absolutely essential.

This is just fantastic TV. Intelligent, compelling, and pure escapism [fairy-tale politicians......]. I have seen the entire series once, and have started re-watching from the beginning......I originally paid close to recommended price for the first 6 series - so the current price is an incredible deal. Highly recommended.

I bought this boxset (well...the original version - the behemoth version) for around 90 Pounds. Even now, that was excellent value. For 35 Pounds you would be best to buy, watch and remember it forever. It leaves an impression on you, and you will always think of it favourably.

The president, his staff and the other characters are just fantastic. Really don't want to describe anything else in case I spoil the plot. Simply put, the plot is fantastic, the dialogue intelligent and this...price is just unbelievable! Buy it now and you won't be dissapointed. Probably THE best television programme of all time.

I recently got the box set. After hearing good things it was a series I always wanted to watch but kept missing it when it was on TV.....So far I've only watched 10episodes of season 1 & absolutely love it. Can't wait to get through the rest of the seasons! I'd definitely recommend you buy it!!
