Cracks

This is a wonderful, surprising emotional film. Eva Green plays the part of Miss G a teacher in an isolated girls boarding school in Ireland. She leads a small diving team of young girls who idolise her for her beauty, knowledge and exotic stories of her travels around the world. In reality Miss G has led a lonely and unassuming life. She feeds on the young girls admiration and attention and when a mature and beautiful foreign student, Fiamma comes to the school Miss G becomes fascinated with her and obsessed with capturing her admiration too. However, Fiamma sees through Miss Gs stories and refuses to idolise her. As the film progresses Eva Green is more and more spell binding to watch as her complex character begins to loose control and the loneliness and isolation she feels eventually breaks down completely. The chemistry of the young girls is also very strong and some of the scenes are filmed in a beautiful artistic way. The film is well rounded and the ending very successful leaving a glimmer of hope for the future of one of the girls. Definitely worth watching.

Eva Green not only has the most mesmerising eyes in cinema, she produces her best performance so far in my view. She captures the inferiority complex of Miss G beautifully. Great performance from Juno Temple too. Well worth seeing!

Eva Green is excellent in this suprisingly moving drama about a rather unstable teacher who becomes quite fascinated with a Spanish student. Eva green portrayed Miss G's instability perfectly and Juno Temple did a fantastic job as the manipulative and seethingly jealous Di who vies for Miss G's affections. Really good.
