No goats. No glory.

Kevin Spacey, George Clooney and Ewan McGregor star in this war spoof based on the non-fiction book by Jon Ronson. With a freshly-failed marriage behind him, rookie reporter Bob Wilton (McGregor) decides to lose himself in the romance of war by travelling to Iraq to report from the front line.

Bob gets more than he bargains for when he meets Lyn Cassady (Clooney), a 'psychic' special forces agent who reveals the existence of a secret, New Age-influenced military unit whose goal is to put an end to war by using mind control techniques, peace and love as taught in Vietnam in the early 1970s by 'New Earth Army' founder Bill Django (Jeff Bridges).

When Bob and Lyn set out together across the Kuwait border into Iraq, they get kidnapped and end up in a secret desert training camp run by Django's treacherous former student Larry Hooper (Spacey), who is running a lab of bizarre paranormal experiments aided by his former mentor, now a spaced-out alcoholic.

Wanted to see this since i saw a trailer for it a few weeks back it looked rather odd to say the least but in a good quirky way.
George Clooney is one of my favourite actors and once again he delivers a knockout performance in this quirky and unique comedy film, The whole cast is spot on Jeff Bridges was great and very funny, Ewan McGregor was really good as well and brushed off all the Jedi and Star Wars gags really well and Kevin Spacey delivers a good performance as the bad guy.
I thought it was a good film and really funny but my wife didnt like it she found it difficult to follow with its flashbacks to the past and she didnt really get all of the gags, if you like a comedy film that is different to the norm and if your a fan of anything the Coen Brothers have done then i would say this film is well worth a watch it wont be for everyone but there are worse films out there than this.

Character driven movie, with a wacky story to tell.
Was expecting a little more, because of the Brilliant Cast.
Enjoyable Black Comedy, with element based on True Facts.
Acting was spot on. George Clooney taking top honours whilst at the same time looking like Dennis Farina.
Jeff Bridges was hilarious, with hints of his DUDE character from The Big Lebowski.
Kevin Spacey was very good in a Slimey and Annoying role. Ewan Mcgregor was good.
Good watch, but dont let the Starry Cast increase expectations too high.

This supposed fact based black comic satire is pretty good, but that's where the problem lays with the movie, it's good, but due to the comic potential of the story it should have been excellent.
Based on the U.S forces involvement in Cyops, Reporter McGregor sets out to blow the whistle on this covert operation on a rogue extention of the armed forces ( The Jedi's) that can influence the outcome of war by power's of Telepathy. Clooney is very funny as McGregor's lead, as he explains the history of the practice through some very funny flashback sequences. Jeff Bridges is also great, although he seems to be playing the Dude again as the founder of the Cyops team. Spacey is at his smarmy best as the bad seed, all of these are fine in this movie. Infact the first fourty five minutes is a brilliant satire, it's the second part of the movie that the story looses focus, and in this looses it's comic edge, by leading to a confused anti-climax.
It's a pretty entertaing movie for most of it's running time, that gives you much to think about, but nothing that the movie should have been.

 More Boring than funny.

I actually found only once scene in this movie funny.
Its not the worst movie i have seen but it sure did not deliver.
And Ewan McGregor is quite annoying.
