  Dark but Delightful

I've seen various adaptations of this classic novel, but this is certainly one of the darkest. I was surprised at how accurately it portrayed the original novel, respecting all aspects of the text while still making for an entertaining film.

Though the story never let me down, I didn't warm to the animation and it was too clearly made to be watched in 3D (it was like playing a video game at times). Jim Carrey was a fair choice for Scrooge; he stayed far enough away from another Grinch but was light enough to ease the grim moments in the film.

Not for younger children at all, but a great adaptation for older generations.

Great one for the older viewers

One of the most visually stunning animations I've seen. From the opening minutes the dying seconds is a feast for the eyes, great colours and brilliant use of technology. It's your traditional A Christmas Carol story, Oh humbug! It has all the elements you'd expect to see but with a slight more creepy twist. At times it is a little creepy and perhaps not suitable for really young viewers, but for the bigger ones it works all the same. I didn't notice a massive amount of comedy in this but I'd have to say it's still very entertaining. It can go next to A Nightmare Before Christmas, a brilliant animation but of a slightly creepy nature.

Another adaption of the Classic Charles Dickens Novel. This time it has been made using very clever Graphics, similar to the style used in the TinTin Film although at times it is a little dark and spooky like Coraline so i wouldn't recommend this for young children. There's some great Voice Overs, Good Graphics and an overall impressive style.

Bought this the other day, i would not recommend it for young children as it is quite dark and scary at some points which my 3 year old didnt like and was quite scared of.. other than that worth a watch

It was okay, but nowhere near the best adaption I have seen of Charles Dicken's classic tale. It's okay and worth a watch if you are wanting to see a different version but not the one I personally would choose to purchase.

Like most of the others, this is a great film but not for younger ones. I took my 7 year old daughter to the cinema yesterday and she has said she doesn't want to see it again, she had to watch alot of it through her fingers!! Definately one for the older ones though, certainly makes you feel Christmasy! Great animation too!

Great for older children and adults

The film is fantastic myself and my wife loved it, the problem is that my two boys age 7 and 8 just didn't like it. It was not suitable for young ones hence the PG rating so no surprises that there are some gruesome moments, again if you know dickens then this will come as no surprise either.

The film is fantastic and I wish I had bought the 3d version, if you have the means then go for the 3d as it will look amazing.

This is an amazingly well done version of a literary classic - it is very true to the original text by Dickens, and anyone who is surprised by the 'dark' interpretation' clearly hasn't read the book. PG rating means that it may be unsuitable for younger children up to the age of 8 - spot on in my opinion.
