A thoroughly lame plot draped over what seems like a rushed script and a bunch of unconvincing actors. Avoid.

  Not long enough!

This is an odd one, because what there is in the film is decent enough. It's certainly not bad.
But this is a bad film, because simply there is not enough of anything.
At under 80 minutes, there is not enough, story, dialogue, action or anything!
Nothing gets explained, you don't have time to connect with the characters, so ultimately its a bad film.
Megan Fox looks hot is obviously and the acting all around is pretty decent, given that its Brolin and Malkovich this should be surprising, but the film isnt long enough for enough to happen.

  Good Supernatural Western

This film is for those who like Clint Eastwood westerns, anti heroes like Snake Plissken, games like Red Dead Redemption, and other comic movie adaptions, like Ghost Rider (which the Jonah Hex screenwriters are directing a sequel to).
I had low expectations for this film, but was very pleasantly surprised. I'm baffled by the panning this film received, maybe the critics saw that Matt LeBlanc is an executive producer, or an opposing film company payed them to slate it. Who knows?
Watch and enjoy.

Vex at the Hex - poor comic action

| | See all tbrookey09's reviews (74)

This is like a film that Tarantino threw away. It has some promising touches and some good cast members but fails to take the magic and comic action to a level other than below average.

Josh Brolin is excellent as Jonah Hex, a lone fighting bounty hunter out to avenge his family's murder. The plot is somewhat broken and limited and the effects that are there are odd and misplaced rather than being consistent and entertainment.

You can tell this is from the writers of Crank and Gamer as it is a poor, silly action romp. I would not waste your time on this, opt for Van Helsing or one of the many DC based Superhero Movies which deliver smart, big budget ambition.

Forget what the director says laziness cost this film, explanations were rushed, scenes were quick there was little of the talents Jonah supposedly has, and come on no one should be paid for "dirt like dead, dead likes dirt"
