I didnt expect much from this film, but boy was i in for a shock!! All the cast gave brilliant performances, the storyline was a lot deeper and far more moving than i expected and it kept me wanting to know more. The only reason i didnt give it 5 stars is that the ending wasnt up to the high standard of the rest of the film in my opinion but a definate must see!!! Great film!!!
Deep and surperb!!!!

Antwone Fisher is Denzels Washington's directorial Debut and what a debut!!!
The film is beautifully directed and welcomes a newcomer Derek Luke as the angry sailor who has weekly appointments with the Dr. Jerome Davenport (Washinton).
At times when this film leaves you with deep sadness, delving into the Antwone Fishers past and revealing the abuse he has suffered all his life, any sensitive person will need a box of tissues by their side.
However there are heart warming scenes involving Washington and Luke. Watching their relationship evolve from doctor/patient to guardian/son.
This is the real Antwone Fishers screenplay debut, shaping his life story into a film with success.
Film maturity is needed in order to absorb this films raw emotion. Anyone who is a fan of Denzel Washington will love this film and a promising young actor (Derek Luke) is bound to have a long and strong career ahead of him.
Must see film, ENJOY!
