R.O.D. starts rather lightheartedly, as we follow Agent Paper (whose voice admittedly grates at the beginning) into this bizarre world of espionage.
Soon, though, you'll come to realise that this mini series has more on offer than simply gorgeous art work and stunning animation. Characters like Miss Deep (don't get me started) and Agent Paper form an unlikely friendship and the plot soon thickens after that.
The endgame of the big bad is extremely cool (in a morbid kind of way) and events build up for a kickass showdown (although the best fight occurs in the ocean - it's hard to explain).
Through some solid character development and some nice twists the series gains momentum and hits you with a powerful, somewhat melancholic end. I almost choked up. Honest.
For this price, it's worth checking out!
