This was a great comedy with great slapstick moments and great comedy timing from the two leads Steve Carell and Tina Fey who are the married couple who decide to go a out for a meal expecting a rest from their hectic lifestyle but then they had to escape the clutches of two crooked cops who think they have what belongs their boss. The story was good but without Fay or Carell wouldnt have been as good. The supporting cast wasnt bad neither with Mark Wahlberg, James Franco, Mila Kunis and Ray Liotta playing good cameo roles. Enjoy
I went to see this film last night knowing little about it apart from the fact that Steve Carell and Tina Fey were in it. I have to say that I've seen many films with Carell in them (Anchorman and the rubbish Evan Almighty to name but two), and he steals the show. This is no different. Him and Fey bounce off one another effortlessly, and it really translates onto the screen that their humour is so similar. It also shows that they are two talented actors and their chemistry is so apparent. The film itself has an easy plot to follow, and, although its a little short at 88 mins, I felt that anymore would ruin the film and make it unneccesarily long and padded out. The two leads steal the show with their slapstick humour and dialogue and the supporting cast are also well-used and don't steal Carell and Fey's screentime. It's difficult to flaw this film, and its one that you could watch time and time again, and find it more hilarious every time you watch it. Definite 5 stars!
I dont know why but for some reason i didnt want to watch this. Maybe my brain didnt want to ruin the gems of 40 year old virgin and anchorman.
But putting that aside. It all turned out for the better.
Steve Carell and Tina Fey put in an outstanding performance and worked extremely well together. The storyline was funny, with not so predictable events. And for me it just all seemed to flow quite well.
I dont see why others have rated this so low. But personally for the comical value of this and brilliant acting im giving it a 4/5
Caught this on a plane while flying across the Atlantic and enjoyed it more than I thought I would. The script is pretty standard but the two leads, Steve Carell and Tina Fey as well as an excellent cameo from Mark Walhberg, make Date Night a fairly enjoyable way to spend an hour and a half.
