I would honestly say the first film had more of an atmosphere than this one does, but that doesn't make it a bad film. In the Descent Part 2 you find out more about the "Crawlers", like why they are there etc. Buy it, it's still worthy for a top 10 horror film.
I really enjoyed the 1st decent and the atmospher of the film, part 2 was a bit disappointing we seem to be no further on in the story, some creep bits, lots of darkness and blood, i felt after watching it that something was missing. Can see another one on the way as the film is left open, with more questions and no answer's
The Descent is one of my fave films, and i was like omg when i found out they were goin to do a sequel, but its sad they changed directors as Neil Marshall is just awesome and this sequel lost his charm. I enjoyed it because it was more of the same terrifyin use of the dark and claustrophobia as the 1st one. But why change the crawlers? They look like they've come straight out of Lord Of The Rings haha. I was happy to see Juno back in it to as she was my favourite. I think this is a decent sequel but totally unnecessary. The ending proves that. But all in all its a good film and was worth the money :)
Certainly not as good as the first film, which would be hard, considering the original was probably the best Brit horror since Hellraiser in the '80's. Nevertheless it is more than acceptable by todays standards - high quota of gore, and enogh shocks to keep you interested.
When i sat down to watch this film i knew that you couldn't beat the first, but as far as sequals go it is pretty good. It made me feel slightly on edge, not scared but its not often you find a movie that can send chills down your spine. The only fault i can pick with it is they could have made it a little less Americanised! Deffinately worth watching without being too disappointed :D
