The surrealistic, imaginative music of Pink Floyd lends itself to visual interpretation like no other in rock history. In this strange and exciting film Pink Floyd perform live amidst the ruins of Old Pompeii, with special effects and dramatic footage blending into a unique audiovisual experience. Also included in this version are interviews conducted during the making of their landmark album DARKSIDE OF THE MOON and includes footage of the actual recording sessions. An absolute must for any fan of Pink Floyd or anyone even remotely interested in their art.

Great to watch and to listen to

This film really shows Pink Floyd at their peak. Echoes is a tour de force and the DVD is worth buying for this alone. The setting of the ruined city of Pompeii; a live performance with no audience in a dead city is inspirational with scenes of the band wandering around the lava flowing from the volcano.

The sound quality is good. Very good considering its age. And there's also some "making of Dark Side of the Moon" on here.

 Amazing DVD

This is a must buy DVD for any music fan. This shows Pink Floyd playing in the ruins of Pompeii plus also shows behind the scenes of the recording of Dark Side of the Moon. This is a must buy for not only Pink Floyd fans but fans of great music everywhere.Plus at this price you can't go wrong.

Pompeii, The directors cut, would be more with less...

Having seen Pink Floyd at Pompeii on VHS years ago I can say that it is spoiled with the inclusion of the dark side of the moon studio stuff. It breaks up the music performance and is not how it should be. Why cant they leave it as it was intended to be seen?
Also, why dont they re-release The Final Cut on DVD this time?
