The BAFTA nominated series of 10 minute nostalgia treats. This quirky spoof science series will appeal to anyone who remembers the dull, educational films that were obligatory viewing for school pupils in the 70's. This pin-point parody takes us into such surreal flights of fancy as dehydrating water, the effects of sulphur on champagne and monitoring igloo-building ants.

I didn't see the first series until I bought this DVD, basically it's a 'Schools'/'Open University' parody that's delivered absolutely 'bob on', so you could be mistaken for thinking it wasn't spoof - but some of the stuff here is excellent - I'd've enjoyed science more at school if they'd've covered stuff shown here such as the effects of sulphur on champagne, monitoring igloo-building ants, kissing tramps (which can spread germs) and ghosts.
I like it... but it's like 'Marmite' an acquired taste.
There are some impressive extras there too including 'ceefax' stuff that's pretty genuine - and if you put the subtitles on the DVD, they're displayed 'teletext style' too.
Anyhow, if you're keen to see, I'd like you to watch it, write an essay ad hand it in before Friday... you WILL be penalised for it being given in later than that!
