In an era when the country's first line of defense, human intelligence, is more important than ever, comes a thriller that gives an insider's view into the CIA's secret training ground: The Farm. James Clayton (Colin Farrell) might not have the attitude of a typical recruit, but he is one of the smartest graduating seniors in the country - and he's just the person that Walter Burke (Al Pacino) wants in the Agency. James regards the CIA's mission as an intriguing alternative to an ordinary life, but before he becomes an Ops Officer, James has to survive the Farm, where the veteran Burke teaches him the ropes and the rules of the game. James quickly rises through the ranks and falls for Layla (Bridget Moynahan), one of his fellow recruits. But just when James starts to question his role and decides to "wash out," Burke taps him for a special assignment to root out a mole. As the suspense builds toward a gripping climax, it soon becomes clear that at The Farm, the CIA's old maxims are true: 'trust no one' and 'nothing is as it seems'...

The Recriut is Colin Farrel as he joins the CIA, as Al Pacino takes him under his wing, for a so called Mole hunt. The film is great entertainment and as some great twists and turns along the way to keep you guessing who to trust. Both stars are on top form, in this classy but forgotten great paranoid thriller.
It's not the greatest film of all time, but If you like the cool tension of the Jack Ryan movies, then this film will not disappoint.
Very entertaining!
Very good, well worth a watch.

Oh my, so many twists and turns! As it says on the front of the box, nothing is what it seems in this movie. We all figured joining the CIA wouldn't be a piece of cake, but what this recruit has to go through in his attempt to join up redefines the word difficult. But at the same time, this film remains realistic, which is nice.
Yes it has Al Pacino in it, and as usual, his acting does not disappoint. Colin Farrell's character is tested to the limit, and you have to wonder why he doesn't run away from his potential employers screaming, "Leave me alone, I've had enough!"
Obviously the guy has nerves of steel.
It's not in my top ten, but it is nonetheless a very entertaining thriller, which will keep you guessing to the very end.
