Outlaw. Warrior. Hero.

Academy Award winner Russell Crowe reunites with legendary Gladiator director Ridley Scott for epic action adventure in Robin Hood.

Discover the untold story of the man behind the legend as Robin, a heroic warrior, turns outlaw when he assembles a band of skilled marauders to confront injustice and lead an uprising against a weak and corrupt English King.

When the rebellious hero falls for the spirited Lady Marion (Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett), he must first save her village and then confront a growing storm of threats from near and afar if he is to win her heart. As Robin and his men answer a call to ever-greater adventure, these unlikely heroes set off to battle for their country and return England to glory... and ride into Legend.

Ignore some other reviews on here that arent helpful at all!! If they watched the whole thing they would understand.. that its the time before. It is a nice new perspective of the Robin Hood look and is set in the time before he became and how he became an outlaw.

This film was very good, the acting superb and Russel Crowe a complete gem.

I thoroughly enjoyed this, and would recommend it to anyone. Give it a go. I guarantee its worth your time!

 Rocking Robin.

This is one of the films i as waiting for this summer and i have to say its one of the best films i've seen at the cinema in a long time.
My fav Robin Hood film is Prince Of Thieves but this came very close to topping it.
A brilliant mix of fx,action, drama, comedy and breathtaking battles makes this to me the second best Hood yet.
Crowe as always gives a masterfull performance along with great support from Cate Blanchett,Mark Strong,Mark Addy and Max Von Sydow who all give their best to this this epic masterpiece.
I can't wait to get the Director's Cut to see if its even better and really hope there is a least one sequel,be great if The Sherrif is brought in to a bigger role.
Well done a job well done Ridley Scott,as always.

Anybody expecting to see a movie where we see Robin stealing from the rich and giving to the poor, will come away disappointed.
The is how the naw named Robinn of Locksley/ Longstride became a outlaw. After fighting in the crusades under King Richard for years, he now finds plans to overthrough the new king John, and England to come under French rule.
Russell Crowe impresses as Robin both in acting and a pretty good Midlands accent. Cate Blanchett is also superb as Marion.
The plot is very good, as this is not a kid freindly version of Errol Flynn's garish version or Costner's Mullett hair cut dodgy American/ Irish/ Scottish/ South African back to American accented Robbin. This deals with the upheaval of the time, and also shows why Ridely Scott is at the top of his game with this kind of epic.
But there is a downside to all this. The movie feels to have been butchered by the editors to fit the two hour running time of a Summer Blockbuster, and also the violence is edited to keep it family friendly with a cert 12A or PG-13 to get as many people in the cinema as possible. In doing so some of the charatcter's feel under written, including the not so merry men, and plot strands not fully concluded. Robin Hood feels like there is a bigger, violent and more satisfying movie out there on the cutting room floor, and it would not surprise me if in a few years Director Ridley Scott releases a directors cut that makes it the epic it feels it should be.
This cinema cut has it's faults, but when the battles unfold it shows that the Crowe and Director Scott at a brilliant combination. This movie seems to be the first of many and hopefully we will see Crowe again in the Hood.
Kids may find this movie too hard going, but adults should really enjoy it, and at least we all can sleep safe in our be knowing that the awful Brain Adams song is not going to spoil the fun.

Best Robin Hood film ever, much better than Prince of thieves. Great original story and good action. Russel Crowe is brilliant. Awesome film.
