Based on an acclaimed novel, Charlie St. Cloud is a romantic drama starring Zac Efron as a young man who survives an accident that lets him see the world in a unique way. In this emotionally charged story, he begins a romantic journey in which he embraces the dark realities of the past while discovering the transformative power of love.

Accomplished sailor Charlie St. Cloud (Efron) has the adoration of mother Claire (Oscar winner Kim Basinger) and little brother Sam (newcomer Charlie Tahan), as well as a college scholarship that will lead him far from his sleepy Pacific Northwest hometown. But his bright future is cut short when a tragedy strikes and takes his dreams with it.

After his high-school classmate Tess (Amanda Crew) returns home unexpectedly, Charlie grows torn between honoring a promise he made four years earlier and moving forward with newfound love. And as he finds the courage to let go of the past for good, Charlie discovers the soul most worth saving is his own.

This movie was a step up from all the childish films such as High School Musical and 17 Again, and you can tell Efron is trying to break free and expand himself and his acting. I gotta say, he performs in this movie great, it's a good chick flick, as a guy, I can say it's just over bearable, but it's not one you'd necessarily want to go and watch again. But, some good acting, I liked the idea of the storyline, good script, a nice twist toward the end. A decent watch.

 moving with good romance

got this film for a while but put off by zac efron until now, first of all, brilliant setting, a very moving film with a great twist at the end which is unpredictable and unlike any recent films, i've lost someone in my life and so i find myself relating to the film. a great watch from an unexpectedly good acting from zac, same with robert pattinson in remember me. get BluRay if you can.

I knew nothing about this film except for Zac Efron was in it.
Took to 13 yr old girls and my husband to see it.
Myself and the girls cried throughout the film , such a wonderful storyline with sadness, happiness and twists and excellent acting.
My husband thought it was really good too .
Would recomend you see it.
And Zac was very nice on the eye lol
