The Greatest Show the World has Never Seen
The would have been the mother of all arena shows, people though MJ didn't have his heart in it,
it was all for the money, this movie shows that he had all the passion and vision to make this the greatest shower ever.
The segments for "Smooth Criminal, Thriller and The Way You Make Me Feel" would alone have been worth the ticket price.

This Is It directed by Kenny Ortega explores Michael Jackson, the artist. I finally got to see Michael at work, being artistic, making choices, everything associated with Michael and Music. I feel like I finally went to a Michael Jackson concert. The shots of Michael's dance sequences and rehearsals do not have him at top form because it was in fact rehearsal but even at 50% he's better than most.
There is the utmost respect in the film, not touching on any scandal, family, anything that diminishes the memory of the musical artist that is Michael Jackson. Michael's respect for the environment and his fans is the most beautiful part of the picture. He loved us, he loved us all. He appreciated our devotion and at times, our frustration with him. But no one can deny how he has made a scar in the lives of every music lover.
In other words, it would have been a really good concert.
Forget everything you heard about his drug abuse, the allogation's and all the weird stories of his life style, and just watch the genius at work. Love him or hate him, there is no getting around the fact the Michael Jackson was a musical genius, and a perfectionist. This movies show's us what could have been in his supposed final set of concerts at the O2 Arena in the summer of 2009. The back stage footage of the rehursals and planning is great, but it's the music, and to see jackson performing some of his best tunes live to an empty hall is brilliant, and also very sad, as we all know what happend next. The tag line to this movie is "Discover the man you never knew" but to be honest, it does not dig under his skin, and all you see is Director and concert organizer Kenny (Highschool Musical trilogy)Ortega worshipping Jackson's every step, and telling him he loves (L.O.V.E) him, it's a bit too much.
But this swansong is a fitting tribute to a musical legend. This is it? somehow I don't think so, as no doubt there is still more money to make out of the Jackson cash Cow, but this will do for know!
Whether you like Michael Jackson or not, there's no denying he was a talented singer and a brilliant performer. This Is It shows Michael in a fragile state STILL belting out his popular tunes and showing the world his famous dance moves. The production of this documentary film is incredible and features some pretty snazzy extras such as wardrobe designs and stage sets. If Michael was still alive, this would have been the best series of concerts to date, no question!
