OK, so the packaging may not be up to scratch, but who cares when at last, after so many years, we can all finally wallow in the murky glory that is "Twin Peaks"? No other televisual treat, ever, has been quite this dazzling or mystifying.
Some great Extras (including documentaries with interview clips of cast & crew, including David Lynch, Mark Frost, the other episode Directors, Kyle MacLachlan, Madchen Amick, Sheryl Lee, Sherilyn Fenn, Piper Laurie, Kimmy Robertson, Joan Chen, Michael Horse, Catherine E. Coulson, Kenneth Welsh, Angelo Badalamenti and Julee Cruise), PLUS the entire series (Pilot & 2 subsequent series) make this, indeed, a damn fine slice of RR's Cherry pie. By the way, the picture quality is brilliant, though obviously the Deleted Scenes are somewhat more awkward, visually and aurally. The English Subtitles, for all episodes + documentaries are, as always, very welcome for those of us with hearing difficulties.
Favourite quote:
Ben Horne: "We've lain a gala reception for your fair-haired boys tonight; all of Twin Peaks' best and brightest".
Jerry Horne: "We're holding it in a phone booth?"
"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee".
... or, failing that, you could just buy this box set instead. Television history.
