Twin Peaks: Definitive Gold Edition (10 Discs)

Diane, it's 12:01pm, it's raining outside but the temperature is warm and I've just finished watching the gold edition package of Twin Peaks. What can I say about this, Diane? Do I mention that it was - and probably still is - one of the most innovative television dramas ever? Should I say that once you immerse yourself in the pure joy of the 29 episodes of this box-set that you'll want to visit the tranquility of the town again and again? Or do I just settle on the fact that Twin Peaks is glorious entertainment, and if you want to peel away the onion-skin layers it will reward you time after time. Oh and, Diane, the extras are to die for. Hhmmm - maybe that's what happened to Laura Palmer! Get me Gordon Cole.

I watched these way back in 1990/91 all those years ago. If you have never seen this show then it's a must see. The series is that far out and works on many strange levels I doubt very much that it's dated at all. There are many fine moments in this series. Some extremely funny, moving and very dark. To me this is one of the best TV shows EVER! I was 20 years old when I watched this and now I'm almost 40. The complete DVD boxset has taken some time in coming due to legal ramblings concerning season 2 but it looks like it's finally made it. I'm looking forward to visiting Twin Peaks again very soon. For the younger generation if your unsure about getting this then I would say just go for it! You will not be disappointed and this show will stay with you for a long time to come just like it has with me.

I watched this in my mid teens and it opened my eyes to what TV could be about. I recently watched all 8 episodes from season 1 and I think 24 episodes from season2 and it was as good today as it was 20 years ago and I still don't know what it was all about. If your open minded, slightly odd and like the weird and wonderful buy it. Come to think of it, buy everything David Lynch has ever released!

OK, so the packaging may not be up to scratch, but who cares when at last, after so many years, we can all finally wallow in the murky glory that is "Twin Peaks"? No other televisual treat, ever, has been quite this dazzling or mystifying.

Some great Extras (including documentaries with interview clips of cast & crew, including David Lynch, Mark Frost, the other episode Directors, Kyle MacLachlan, Madchen Amick, Sheryl Lee, Sherilyn Fenn, Piper Laurie, Kimmy Robertson, Joan Chen, Michael Horse, Catherine E. Coulson, Kenneth Welsh, Angelo Badalamenti and Julee Cruise), PLUS the entire series (Pilot & 2 subsequent series) make this, indeed, a damn fine slice of RR's Cherry pie. By the way, the picture quality is brilliant, though obviously the Deleted Scenes are somewhat more awkward, visually and aurally. The English Subtitles, for all episodes + documentaries are, as always, very welcome for those of us with hearing difficulties.

I love Twin Peaks. My stepdad told me about the show a couple of years ago and I thought it would be ok at best, but I was very wrong. It might not have the best special effects and so on, but there is just something about it that is so amazingly captivating. I have now watched it four times and I love it as much as I did the first time!
