Transformers 3: Dark Of The Moon

Michael Bay gets so much negativity over these awesome films which is not needed, they are an epic trilogy of films that have certainly grown over the years, Dark of the moon is by far the best with an amazing amount of action that takes up the whole three hours running time, transformers could not have been done with more style taking it way beyond a cheesy 80s cartoon. This has an awesome story, an epic showcase of awesome effects, great robots, Optimus prime is amazing in this film as well as the others, the cast is great, personally I missed the beautiful Megan Fox not being in it but it didnt matter she had a sexy replacement for the eye candy in the film. The music score is epic as always, this is a must see for an epic display of quality action that every blockbuster movie should have!! Transformers fans should be proud!

Ok, so.................2009's Revenge of the Fallen was a pretty noticeable step down from 2007 and the first Transformers film, which wasn't all that bad really in the first place, so expectations were understandably on the low end for the final film (with Bay directing likely anyway) in the battle of the Autobots vs Decepticons.

Oddly enough, here in Dark of the Moon, Bay has actually managed to pull out of the hat a film that actually strives to be coherent (I highly enjoyed the first two anyway, but the second was fairly free fallin') and have a plot, with a start, a middle and even a reasonable twist or two along the way, plus the addition of 3D actually forces Bay to make his camera linger on his lovingly rendered CGI mayhem more than before.

The dialogue and acting still isn't up to much (Rosie is a peach to look at but makes Megan Fox look like Jodie Foster when it comes to her performance as the new eye candy) but here who was anyone ever kidding - this is ALL about the visual mayhem up there on the screen.

Which - and you have to give him his dues - Bay can orchestrate like no other director around. And he throws everything up there to be seen in his CGI action sequences that look unbelievably realistic, as this time Chicago is demolished and left in ruins through the third act battlezone finale.

This film will in no way convert or bring over new viewers, but for Bay fans and those who took to the nature of the last couple films this is just what the carnage doctor ordered!

Absolutely loved this film just like the previous 2 it was aimed at the audience like me or whoever appreciates Michael Bay's big bang style of filmmaking. No Megan Fox this time and is replaced by unknown model Rosie Huntington Whitely who actually wasnt bad as the love interest of Sam (Shia LeBeouf) and is decent to look at (of course no-one can replace Miss Fox in them stakes). Action is off the hook it really is and using the Apollo moon landing as the basis of the story was an excellent idea...top summer entertainment. Enjoy

None of the Transformers films have really lived up to what i would have expected as a fan of the old 80's cartoons and i feel Micheal Bay's direction is bent towards a young teenage audience and this film features some footage of NASA's moon landings that i personally believe were faked but i can't take away this film is probably the best one out the three and that it has lots of action and tons of special effects.

After the disappointment of Rise Of The Fallen everything depended on this third chapter of Director Michael Bay's Trilogy.
Things did not look too good at the start of production Megan Fox got the boot, there was reported problems with the 3D so all the critics must have been sharpening their knives for Michael Bay.
The simple fact is that the critics who love to loath these films will have a field day, not just because it's a Transformers movie but because it'S a Michael Bay movie too a double whammy for them!
But for those who just go to the cinema to be entertained will love every jaw dropping minute. Dark Of The Moon deals with all the problems of the second movie and this time gives us a plot with a propper nerative... well for a film about battleing transforming robot aliens it does. The film starts a bit slower this time, where we pick up with Shia LaBeouf after the split with Megan Fox and we get introduced to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (posh name) who is a under wear mdel in real life and it shows. The fact that the film is all about the clashing of metal she is the only wooded and plastic thing in the film, she even makes Fox look like an oscar worthy actress as she is that aweful, but this is a action film based on Robots and not a film about actors, this actually is a paradox as there is some acting heavy weights in the film, most notably John Malkovich, who is wasted in another mental performance, and also the ever excellent Frances McDormand as the brassy head of op's.
Shia LaBeouf is always watchable and has brilliant comic timeing that helps in the clunky first forty minutes.
Things do liven up to bedlam after this as the plot kicks in..... Then the action, mass destuction that's off the scale and the NOISE.
Transformers is what you want and this delivers, with some of the most jaw dropping action put to screen, the film out does anything in the previous movies. The highlight is the collapseing building as the war destroy's Chicago. The final battle is nothing like anything seen on the big screen. The 3D in the cinema version is truly awesome and I felt myself ducking as cars, buildings and robotic limps spray the screen.
I'm not going to beat around the bush. the film is L O N G maybe by half an hour, but so were the other two. some of the comedy is a bit clunky, but serves this type of film perfectly as it never aims to be serious ( how could it) and in the world that we live, where there is unrest in the middle east, terrorist groups looking for revenge for their fallen, I for one cannot think of a better place to switch off from reality for two and a half hours and watch waring transforming robotic aliens slug it out on the big screen.
This is what blockbusters are all about, and this is the best Transformers movie to date.
