ROME Season 2 "FETCH ME MY SWORD AND SANDALS!"

| | See all gavtherock's reviews (15)

The second series of Rome ties up all the loose ends of the dramatic ending of series 1. The story follows historical timelines and manages to blend in the two main characters of Verenus and Poulo into the dramatic backdrop of this ancient, violent and erotic time. If you like all the sword and sandals epics then rome series 1 and 2 are just up your street.

Even better than the first series!

Although it is a lot darker than the first series (if that's even possible!) series 2 of Rome continues the story of Pullo and Vorenus through all the highs and lows that Rome throws at them.

Also, series 2 does look in more depth at some of the minor characters who were introduced in series 1:

Timon - the Roman-Jew
Posca - Slave of Caesar
Octavia - Daugher of Servilla of the Junii

And a few other surprises along the way. Bonus points to Pullo for "doing just what the lady ordered" in one of the episodes...

Series one MUST be watched before series two though, otherwise it just doesn't make any sense.
