Box Set Comprises:

Top Hat: A musical comedy full of high style, romance, mistaken identity... and Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers dancing and singing 11 of Irving Berlin's best songs. When Jerry Travers meets lovely Dale Tremont, it's love at first sight for him. Unfortunately, Dale's affections chill when she mistakenly believes he's her best friend's new husband. Now she's engaged to someone else...

Will she find out Jerry's real identity before she goes ahead and makes a big mistake?

Shall We Dance: Famous ballet star Petroff - otherwise known as Pete Peters from Philadelphia, PA - would rather tapdance than do grands jetes. And he knows the partner he'd like, too: the lovely nightclub hoofer Linda Keene. But she dashes all hopes of a pas de deux by informing him that she's about to get married and retire from the stage. Then, suddenly, rumours of a romance between the two get splashed on the cover of every newspaper tabloid... and everyone's plans are about to change...

Follow The Fleet: All hands on deck! In the fifth of 10 Astaire/Rogers pairings, Fred trades his top hat for a sailor's cap, Randolph Scott gets the girl (pre-Nelson Harriet Hilliard), Ginger gets a tap solo and viewers get the unending delight of seven sparkling Irving Berlin numbers, including Let Yourself Go, We Saw the Sea, the Duo's zany I'm Putting All My Eggs in One Basket skit and their sublimely powerful Let's Face the Music and Dance.

Astaire is Bake Baker, a hoofer now given to stepping a sailor's horn-pipe while he and other swabbies patrol the seas for democracy. Rogers is his former partner Sherry, now convoying the Navy around a ballroom for 10 cents a dance. But one day the fleet returns to home port. Bake again meets Sherry, and the partnership is renewed at least for one more show. In small early-career roles, look for a very blond Lucille Ball and a very young Betty Grable

Carefree: When stuffed-shirt Bellamy (and who can play that part better?) sends his dizzy radio-singer fiancee to a shrink to find out why she won't settle down, the dancing analyst opens her to the possibility of love and then sees his happiness heading down the aisle with the wrong man. The Berlin tunes include "Change Partners."
