After watching the the trailer i was expecting some absolute evil excorsist type film, but I actually enjoyed this a lot more! the girl is so creepy and pulls of all characters really well! the main story line was a bit far fecthed but i really liked the ending and enjoyed the whole film! would recommend, but not going to be everyones enjoyment.

 Pretty good stuff.....

Just because a film is not shot in America or have multitudes of overpaid over-hyped actors in doesnt make it low budget...Im thinking Dead mans shoes etc etc...Most decent films are void of the Hollywood makeover nowadays. Anyhooo this is a gem in its own right, Think the original Wicker man crossed with James Herberts Ghosts of Sleath and your somewhere close...in actual fact this is just the kind of thing one could imagine coming from the pen of Mr Herbert....Im not gonna ruin the plot other than to say if you want a decent horror/thriller thats a bit different and are sick of popcorn rubbish like decent 2 and the other rubbish that is trotted out just to make a quick buck then this might be up your alley..... I personally prefer my films to be gritty and lifelike and I would hold this head and shoulders above anything thats coming out of the good old USA at present. Im sick of Final destination 9 and Japanese horror rip offs......this is the kind of film we are sadly lacking more of. I highly recommend it. The ending pulls it all together and although some scenes are quite harrowing, it ends with you realising you have just watched a quite enjoyable and clever tale.......The modern day exorcist tagline is somewhat misleading I might add.....All in all a good 90 minutes of anyones time.

 Surprisingly very good

I am not really one for scary films, but my friends and I rented Dorothy because it's always fun to watch scary films in big groups.
This film was quite clearly independent and on a low budget, but it does not distract from the film.
The film is situated around the girl called Dorothy who has a problem, and the psychiatrist who tries to help her. It's set on a small island in Ireland (you know, the kind of island where everyone knows each other, but something bad always happens!)
At times the film can get a little confusing as there are perhaps too many things going on at once, but by the end, all loose ends have been tied, leaving you satisfied.
I think perhaps the certificate is a little lax, personally, I would make this film an 18 as there are some scenes that are a little disturbing (the rape scene is particularly gruesome, as is the beginning of the film with Dorothy and the baby).
Overall, this film has a really interesting story (the multiple personality disorder, even though it's been used before, is very original here) The film is very dark and sinister and may leave you a little freaked out, BUT it's definitely worth a watch.
Also, the actress who plays Dorothy is incredible, she has a great range in this film.

 Dorothy...a hidden gem.

I was taken in by the very beginning and hooked until the end. The acting and simple story, plus the setting kept me wanting to find out what happens to the two leads. The twist at the end was very satisfying. The dvd includes an indepth 'making of' and for me I found this film, tho not original very watchable.
