Based on Stieg Larsson's sensational novel, the second part of the 'Millennium Trilogy' is another suspenseful Swedish triumph. Acclaimed actors Noomi Rapace and Michael Nyqvist reprise their roles to investigate the sex trade in this hard-boiled thriller with Hollywood-style production values.

The new film sees Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rapace) and crusading journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Michael Nyqvist) once again caught up in a brutal muder investigation. Having served his prison sentence, Blomkvist returns to Millennium intent on exposing a billion dollar sex trafficking ring.

When two of his researchers are murdered, Salander is framed for the murders and emerges as the police's chief suspect. Unconvinced, Blomkvist attempts to track her down and find out the truth. But secretive hacker Salander goes on the run and soon stumbles upon secrets of her own past.

The GWPWF (The Girl Who Played With Fire) is a brilliant sequel to The Girl With Dragon Tattoo. GWPWF is well produced. The acting is good. Like the first film the story is really good, there is lots of action that keeps your attention. For me it has everything a film should have.
GWPWF is quite heavy going, its over two hours long with sub titles. (There is a dubbed version on the disc). I would recommend setting aside a couple of hours and watching it early! Personally i had to watch it a few times as there's a lot to take in.
Looking forward to the next film!

This is not so much a sequel but more of a continuation of the story from where dragon tattoo left off, the story uses elements of the original and brings back old characters and blends them into a fresh new story for millennium to investigate, its a fantastic film and has yet again amazing performances from the main stars and leaves you hooked until the shocking end, perfect set of thrillers and a must have trilogy of films.

This is a very sound sequel to 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo', and if you liked the 1st film you will enjoy this film too. Personally i don't think it's as good as the 1st but it is close. It has got some good twists and the story is strong, plus like the 1st film the ending is worth the wait. After watching the 1st film you grow attached to Lisbeth so you get emotionally attached to this film, and in doing so it perfectly sets up the 3rd installment.

Well reccomended and part of one of the strongest film trilogy's released in recent memory.

An excellent follow-up to the first film of the Trilogy, and as with that, it followed the book faithfully (albeit with sensible editing to keep the action flowing, and with the obvious time limitations one always has from novel to film.) I would caution anyone who has not read the Trilogy NOT to watch 'The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest' before viewing this one - or they'll be totally confused (particularly with the opening sequences) and in this sense does not 'stand on its own' as the other two do (altho' at the end of the second we do get a hint that 'it's not all over' at the final shot). Naomi is brilliant (particularly when we learn that she insisted on doing ALL the action sequences herself) Eat your heart out 'Xzena, Warrior Princess', you gotta rival - with a BRAIN!

 Thrilling!

Really enjoyed this second film in the trilogy, kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through, cant wait for the third outing in the series.
It is in swedish with english subtitles, but you can choose the english dubbed version, but i would prefer it in its original language, highly recommended...
