This film was enjoyed by my 15 year old daughter and I at the cinema. It was so good that the happy ending moved me to tears!
I would thoroughly recommend this film and I intend to buy it on DVD when it's released in February. :)

  Irresistably Despicable

Meet Gru - he's a evil mastermind who is having a hard time. Someone stole the great pyramid of Egypt and all he could steal was the Statue of Liberty ... from Las Vegas. The Bank of Evil's stopped trying to fund his increasingly desperate plots, he's a constant disappointment to his mother, and the new villain on the block - Vector - is showing him up at every opportunity. Things only get worse when he meets three orphans who are trying to sell cookies. Gru doesn't have time for cookies - he's trying to steal the moon!
When I saw the trailers I thought "looks alright - but I'll go see Toy Story 3 instead". Truth-be-told, Despicable me was far better. Don't get me wrong, I loved TS3, but it wasn't funny. Moving, yes, but few laugh-out-loud moments. Despicable Me is filled with them, and everyone in the cinema (all of whom were over the age of 18 as we watched it at Uni) was in stitches.
The characters are lovable, the villains (...of the villains) are hateable, the minions are adorable (I don't know anyone who doesn't want a Dave of their own) and the story is so simple it's brilliant.
In the end I saw this 4 times in the cinema, I've asked my parents for this for my 22nd birthday, and I'll be buying it for my college's Film Society as I believe no DVD collection is complete without it. It is the finest film I have seen all year, if not for a long time, and it was so entertaining I never once stopped to think "how much longer do I have left?"
I'm not going to tell you that you HAVE to see it, but if you haven't, give some serious consideration to getting it on DVD - it's worth it.

This is brilliant the characters are great and the kids will love it. A film where you will remember bits from it and will want to watch it again and again.

The two villians are competing against each other and while one is getting on a bit and losing support from the bank the other is the new and up and coming villian. The battle is between wise old experience and youthful enterprising optimism. The minions are brilliant and the only thing you miss from this being 2d is the 3d effects they put on the minions in the credits.

This film is simply fantastic, the kids are so adorable as are the minions. Storyline was easy enough for my six year old to follow, she never once tugged at my arm to ask what was going on :0) this film had us laughing out loud. A must see film for all ages.

  Light Bulb! Fantastic Movie!!

My wife and I went to see this (without the kids). We thought we'd be the odd ones out, but there were more adults than kids. Very funny all the way through, great storyline, and the Minions stole the show! Well worth getting.

  such a giggle !

I watched this film whilst flying abroad and it was the only one to make me laugh out loud ( to the embarrassment of my children who were watching something much more sensible !)
The characters were very entertaining.Loved the girls for twisting Despicable Me around their little fingers...such a hoot !
Suitable for tinies or oldies with a good sense of humour.

  Absolutely brilliant
