Always will like this film! Jim Carrey at his best as usual, really good actor. Jennifer Aniston also plays a good role and of course Morgan Freeman brilliant actor. Good family comedy which u can watch over and over and still laugh!

  Very Enjoyable Comedy

I really liked this movie as soon as I saw it. Jim Carey is perfect for the character he plays, Bruce Nolan, and the whole film has lots of laughs all the way through it. Morgan Freeman also plays God very well, and I also like the way the story has meaning to it. I think its a great film to have in your DVD collection and its one you will watch over and over, and still laugh every time. Own it!

  Enjoyable Carrey comedy

| | See all Aceventura's reviews (65)

Whilst Bruce Almighty doesn't hit the heights of Ace Ventura or Liar Liar, the picture maintains a consisent string of laughs and allowed Carrey to tickle are funny bones after the failure of the Grinch.
The story has Carrey as an underappreciated newscaster who can't get the best stories and thus begins a tangle with God. God offers him the chance to run the world better, and as a result Bruce becomes the blesses incarnate.
Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carrell make good support and whilst the film is a bit mawkish come the end, fans of Carrey and comedy should find plenty to laugh at. Worth a watch and if you like it the Play.com price is reasonable.

God is a mean kid with a magnifying glass; and I'm the ant!

One of Carrey's better films. Lots of typical humour, plenty of well acted moments and a fun new twist on 'God'. Worth a look.

  Average American Comedy

| | See all Trefusis's reviews (243)

Here we have Jim Carrey in his mid-career; after the excess of Ace Ventura and before he became a serious, and not bad, actor. There are plenty of good gags here, although it's rather hard to be involved in a story that tries to make out that a guy is a loser because he's a newsreader who doesn't get the best stories. Perhaps if he'd been a toilet cleaner or worked in McDonald's it might have been a little more credible.

One of the funnier movies that has been created in the last 5 years... Jim Carey is brilliant as the washed out news man who one day meets god and recieves his powers while god goes on holiday... with plenty of laughs along the way... this is definately worth a buy!

Thrilling. Such great comedy throughout. The character selection was tremendous and such a great original plot. I laughed all the way through but was touched at points with the emotional storyline. A must have.
