True Blood just keeps getting better and better, I've watched since the first episode and loved every minute of it, season two is great with some great story lines for the characters. especially Jason with the fellowship that was great. I am currently watching season 3 and it is awesome. defiantly a 5 star even more =p
Fiendishly fun and sexy drama continues in this, the second season of the adventures of Sookie Stackhouse and all the Southern Gothic drenched drama of the residents of Bon Temps, Louisiana.
Picking up directly where the final seconds of season 1 left things the season's main storyline's revolve around the mysterious Maryann Forrester (the brilliant Michelle Forbes!) and the hold she develops over both Tara and the town in general, and also Sookie's involvement in the search for a 2,000 year old vampire who has gone missing. All the while Jason has discovered the church of the Fellowship of the Sun and finds himself in training for a planned Human against Vampire battle!!
There's also the usual lashings of sex, blood, sweat, gore, one-liners combining together with a dollop of allegory along the way that makes season 2 possibly even more watchable (and crazy!) than the first. I sped through this whole season in about a day and a half - it's simply addictive!
The only negative was that I felt the Maryann story dragged out in the final episodes a little too much and was more protracted than it really needed to be, but with the season finale setting up all kinds of interesting developments for season 3 it's going to be a long wait for those DVD's to be released!
Apart from seven episode commentaries, extras are also pretty light and inconsequential however. Instead of fictional additions by way of Fellowship of the Sun videos how about a proper thorough behind the scenes look at putting the show together?
This show is genius and I can't get enough of it. Everything a vampire series should be. Mixing humour and horror works great if you get it right and that's what this show is all about. It's so funny and at the same time it's incredibly dark. Season 1 had a more serious tone going on, but 2 has a few new faces and they are a hoot. The character of Maryann is amazing and I love the Fellowship of the Sun. Am very excited about Season 3 starting this month as they're introducing werewolves to the mix. Yay!!!
I started off with the first book and got hooked so I started watching the series. I watched all 3 in a short space of time because I got so hooked! I am really sad they're all over and anxiously awaiting season 4!!
The series are incredible, the books too. I hope they continue for a very long time.
