Episodes 1 - 13

Alchemy - the mystic science of transmutation. Gifted alchemists can break down and reconstruct matter using the "Law of Equivalent Exchange," creating miraculous things. But one taboo can never be broken - human transmutation. The Elric brothers Edward and Alphonse broke the taboo in an attempt to resurrect their late mother and as a result, lost everything.

Al's soul was transferred to a suit of living armour and Ed lost two limbs, confining him to mechanical auto-mail. To recover what they've lost they embarked on a journey to find the fabled Philosopher's Stone. The closer they get to the hidden truth of the Philosopher's Stone, the deeper they fall under shadowy schemes and the perils of unnatural creatures.

The military nation of Amestris, the grudges and hatreds of a persecuted people, and the countless tragedies caused by alchemy all form a dark vortex that will draw people and countries into its void. The Elric brothers forge ahead in their quest to transmute despair into hope...

 A series re-edited

having been slightly dissapointed with the ending of the series and film i was glad to see a re-edit of the series much of it stays true to the old series but having watched up to episode 53 its past the orgional series 48 episode length meaing they have included lots more info on the Homunculous including ones that werent talked about in the last series, many characters are present from the last series including new ones that aid in the story line, with more darker undertones in the story line thia series is i consider better than the origional.
a definate buy if like me you were left dissapopinted with last series but be ready for a long wait for the series to be released as its still going now which looks like it could be 60+ episodes.

 Good Enough?

Im not going to go into detail of the story, as I don't want to spoil anything. As most of you know this is a re-telling of the series and close to the manga than the other series. Im only going to say the stuff that kinda botherd me. As of yet I have only watched the first disc and it's brilliant. One episode has subtitles going over the widescreen mark so you couldnt read the start and the end. Hope there is no more episodes like these silly mistakes. The Opening is great with subtitles to sing along to but it has English Credits, im just being fussy as I would rather it to be in Japanese or have it in japanse if watching it in japanese and English if watching it in English, they did this with the original series in the 4 box sets that were released, but it's not Manga Entertainments fault, it's Funimation, where Manga got them from to release them here in the UK. The last thing I don't like is the dvd case, the region 1 is far better with it's slip case and free postcards. I just wish there was more effort gone to the case it self. But like I said im only nit picking as I have seen better dvds, which is a shame just as a great show like FMA. If you don't care of what I said thats fair enough and you should pick this up as it's a great anime to watch and can't wait to finish off the 2nd disc.

Amazing Anime for an Amazing Price!

FMA Brotherhood is re-edit of FMA it stays closer to the original manga more than the last one, but it has completely new stories, battles, heck episode 1's battles were amazing, the animation is sleek, the English Dub is Spectacular! The story is excellent and touching, the 2nd episode is espcially sad, Im glad Funimation has dubbed this to a high standard, you get over 5 hours for 14.99! I love it and you should to! Who says Anime isnt cheap!?
