Adapted from the long-running London West End comedy, There's A Girl In My Soup stars Peter Sellers as a handsome, 40-year-old TV personality and confirmed bachelor. However, he didn't bargain for a lovely nineteen-year-old American girl named Marion (Goldie Hawn). The plot thickens with liberal helpings of exotic locations in France. Sellers and Hawn create an electric partnership in this romantic comedy from The Boulting Brothers.

In this tale of a midle-aged and very wealthy star of TV meeting an attractive yet easy teenager you might think that the plot and its events will be completely predicatble. Not so. Peter Sellers plays the narcissistic Robert Danvers remarkably smoothly and when matched to Goldie Hawn's 1970's modern teenager the results are hilarious. This is a story of love and lust with a bit of debauchery thrown in. Diana Dors takes the role of domineering wife to the long suffering apartment block concierge presenting another dimension to the appreciation of relationship whilst Tony Britton adds the 'married family man' contribution to this most enjoyable mix of contratsts. Skirts are short and hair is long with a dash of flares thrown in for good measure. Stuff of the early 1970s it certainly is yet delivers its punch of humour without being offensive. Watch and you'll be smiling for weeks as "My god but you're lovely" springs to mind every time you look in the mirror!
