Jim (Jason Biggs) and Michelle (Alyson Hannigan) have finally decided to tie the knot but with their friends (including Stifler) returning from college the chances of their big day going off without a hilarious hitch or two are very small indeed!

American Pie: The Wedding (DVD Review)

| | See all Aceventura's reviews (65)

American Pie marked the best teen flick in ages when it saw release in 1999. However it has to be faulted with the binge of gross out movies that followed, such atrocities as Say it isn't so, Euro Trip and Slackers are all a result of American Pies success.
Theres been a few decent ones to, Road trip and American Pie 2 where fairly watchable and entertaining but the third in the American Pie series entitled American Pie: The Wedding is among the worst efforts yet.
Helmed by Jesse Dylan who would later direct the equally reprehensible Kicking and screaming takes all the most predictable gags possible, melds them into a complete mess of a script and ditches some of the original two's best characters in the process.
He even manages to turn the character of Stifler (the biggest source of laughs in the other movies) into a totally unfunny tool.
The plot involving the charcters of Jim and Michelle from the other movies getting married just doesn't hold up and really isn't very entertaining or interesting. I reckon I laughed about twice during the course of American Wedding, which really isn't sufficent reason to buy it on DVD or even waste time on it.
If you really have to own the film (and god knows why you would) get it as part of the American Pie boxset, cause at least then you have the quality original and semi-decent 2nd outing to fall back on.
The extras are ok but mostly consist of an excuse for teenage boys to garner ome titulation from a party of strippers who feature during the feature.

First of all i'd like to say the guy a couple of reviews down, how the hell can he say that American Pie 2 was "semi-decent" in my opinion it was equal to if not better than the first, he/she must have bad film taste, but however onto the review, this film (in my opinion) is brilliant kept me laughing all the way through, never wanted to pause the DVD not for anything, the only down points were "Oz's" and shermans dissapearances, i know that Chris Klein who plays oz couldn't or didn't want to appear due to scheduling clashing apparently he was filming some film, called Rollerball or Thunderball or something, which apparently was a flop while American Pie: The Wedding was a huge success, and also the rest of the characters including Sherman were left out due to the writers being unable to find good roles for them, which is sort of understandable overall i loved this film and would recommend it to literally anyone who likes a good laugh.

Overall - 9/10

This the third American Pie movie is the best one.

O.K some of the guys from the first two movies are missing from this one but you dont miss them at all this one is funny from start to finish.

The Stiffler Chocolate truffle scene gets me every time.

This Film is by no means a patch on the original first american pie, but you cant help but still love it! There are plenty of laughs to be had, and stiffler is on top form as always. Altough you may feel a little dissapointed that some of the original cast are missing, it makes up for it by bringin in some new one's such as michielles family. The funniest parts of this film is when stiffler and finch are battling it out to sleep with michielles sister. Halarious!
