Tomb Raider: A secret from her father's (Jon Voight) past is about to lead Lara to her greatest challenge: the Triangle of Light, a legendary artefact with the power to alter space and time. Lara must find the Triangle before it falls in to the clutch of the Illuminati, a secret society bent on world domination. To stop the Illuminati, Lara will have to survive a cross-continental chase filled with unimaginable danger. But for the Tomb Raider, danger is the name of the game.

Tomb Raider 2 - The Cradle Of Life: Intrepid British archaeologist Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie) has made perhaps the most important archaeological discovery in history: an orb that leads to the mythical Pandora's Box. Unfortunately, the orb falls into the hands of Jonathan Reiss (Ciarán Hinds), an evil scientist who deals in killer viruses and hopes to sell the secrets of the box as the ultimate weapon. Recruited by British Intelligence to get the orb back from Reiss, Lara recruits Terry Sheridan (Gerard Butler), a British marine turned mercenary (and her former love interest) to help. The two embark on an adventure that spans continents in an attempt to regain the orb...

Lets get the good news over first. Angelina Jolie is perfectly cast as Lara Croft, I can't think of anybody who could play the part better, with a perfect English accent.
But it's the film's that let what coud have been a good contender for the next Indiana Jones down.
Whilst both films are entertaining enough, with some very good action sequences. They don't manage to grab the imagination as they should. Both films in my opinion are as good as each other, they are well directed and rattle along at great speed, and that's where the problems are. The films move at such a great pace that none of the characters engage, Even the Tomb Raider games have better written characters than the ones in the movies. So your left not giving a damn about them. If the film's intension was to capture the feel of the games, well they have suceeded. As the action seems to be like playing a game, and going to the next level with every action sequence, every time with bigger and harder obsticals to overcome.
An entertaining box-set, but misses the special spark to make the movies excellent, as they should have been.
    Pretty good family escapism!

Two of the best video game/movie adapted films EVER

Well for £4.99 you really can't go wrong, the first Tomb Raider is easily the best video game movie adaption ever made and stars Angelina Jolie who put in a great performance and easily becomes the one and only Lara Croft.
Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life the follow up, which didn't perform as well the the first movie, but is still a must see for fans of the game, or any fans of action movies.

So really for the price you can't go wrong, so snap up the great offer now.

A must have in any DVD collection...

Seen both films and I have to say I perfer Tomb Raider 1 more. Even though I have both films on DVD I still watch the re-runs that come on TV. An idication of how much I enjoy watching the film I guess ??? Lol.

First one fun, second one not

The first Tomb Raider movie is a decent three-star movie. Nothing remarkable, but perfectly enjoyable. The second, however, is a disgrace. It's one of the worst films I've ever watched. Simon Yam really needs to pick his projects a little better at times.

Three stars for TR1, one star for TR2, so two stars overall.
