Kill Bill has to be one of my favourite Tarantino films with Pulp Fiction. The film has an innovative and brilliant collaboration of music for the sound track, which lets face it isn't a surprise with the fact it's a Tarantino film. The film makes many references to the great films of the past.
Kill Bill really has to be known as a great, along with the legendary director Quentin Tarantino. The film was written stunningly, and directed beautifully by Tarantino. The iconic Yellow with a black stripe pattern has almost become as well know as the psycho shower scene music. The Kill Bill music is commonly recognised too, you'll have a hard time finding anyone who hasn't heard it. A good example of this is the brilliant reference to Kill Bill in Transformers.
The character of The Bride was portrayed thoroughly through the film and Tarantino and Uma are a great duo. I'd love to see Uma and Tarantino work with each other again.
The acting in the film was awesome on all parts. Uma Thurman was truly great and the role boosted her career enormously. Lucy Lui was great too, and played her role extremely well. She really showed off that she is growing as an actress and will certainly on the tracks to being a legend within the acting business. Vivica Fox was good in the small role she played, and she kicked ass! Darryl Hannah was stunning in Kill Bill, but doesn't really do much untill volume 2. Her character was built up great through the first film, and it gives the fight scene in volume 2 a lot more depth and tension.
Altogether, this film is a great film and will go down in history as a Hollywood great by an innovative and stunning director. As the film lies at the moment though, I think it's overlooked due to the other great films Tarantino's made. I recommend this film to anyone who hasn't seen it. Even if the film isn't your type of film, you'll appreciate it for the great film it is.
The only downer on this DVD is the lack of special features. Miramax release a special edition like the 6 disc edition you released in Honk Kong or the 2 disc edition released in Germany and etc.
4.5 star film
3.5 star product
4 stars overall.

With out doubt the WORST film I've ever had the misfortune to see and there are some real stinkers out there ! Slow , tedious , unfunny and total lack of talent from the so called director !
This is another case of "The Emperors new Clothes syndrome" where everyone seems to just ignore the fact that this is BAD but because its " A Tarantino film" everyone likes to come across as "hip" or "cool" by saying "Oh but Tarantino's a genius" ...Reservoir Dogs was ok but what most people don't realise is that it's a direct copy of another film called City on fire and just by adding a few bits of observational humour to somebody else's work doesn't make you a good director.
Kill Bill was apparently paying homage to other bad films (which Tarantino openly admits to being bad ) that HE and only HE liked...WHY....Why would you pay homage to a bad film...its bad for a reason...It aint no good !
It reminds me of the time when everyone went to see the Blair Witch Project and the new Star Wars films because of all the hype surrounding them from film critics giving these films 10 out of 10 and nobody seemed to want to contradict the so called critics judgement ( which today these films have been given a below average rating by the same citics ) so most people at the time said "Err.... yeah pretty good that ".....FOOLS !
Don't waste your money or time with this......WHAAAAAA??? there's a sequel !!! Not in a trillion billion million years will I be watching that.

you just can FEEL that quentin tarantino has a crush on uma thurman. and why shouldn't he.
but this should be a moviereview, so: if you like quentin tarantino's work, there's no way you're not going to like this one. although it's a very good movie on its own, it really gets its full meaning together with volume II: together they make quite a story of revenge, love, hate, martial arts etc....

This film has to be seen. Once again Mr Tarrantino takes us into his world and now introduces us to The Bride. This whole story is basically a celebration of kung fu, anime, samurai and just about every other Japenese/Chinese style of Genre you can think of. It is this fact which makes the film so enjoyable, that and the story, typical dialogue and the outrageous action sequences.
Place your tongue, firmly in you cheek, sit back and enjoy the fireworks. It may be different with it's collection of styles but it never get boring and those of you who will love this factor, will love the sequel.....
Really Good

Very strange, but then again this is Quentin Tarantino we ae talking about.
Some of the violence where there is loads and loads of blood it sometimes amused me.
A tad cheesy in places but other wise it is a very good film.
The film didn't have much of a story but the characters histories have stories, but the film doesn't.
I think it is well worthy of a four star, possibly a five but no lower than a four.
everything but the anime

I have to say this is one of the best films i have ever seen, All the characters hold their own amazingly well , With a sterling performance from Uma Thurman and lucy Lu and an amzing performance from Sonny Chiba.
Lovers of good music will not be dissapointed as this film contains an amazing soundtrack and some of the most entertaining violence you will ever see.
This is definetly one of those films you need to see before you die.
Work of genius.

This film is a tremendous combination of themes, genres and cinematic techniques to make an exceptionably enjoyable journey.
The plot is very clever, the characters are rich and diverse, giving the film a lot of personality and differentiating it from a lot of more mainstream films out there.
I'm not sure what made me enjoy this film SO much, I think it was the combination of the fantasy plot (which was made to seem totally plausible and convincing through consistent brilliant acting) with some truly stunning bouts of action. It's honestly quite difficult to put into words.
Another plus are the twists and revelations that are uncovered as we follow the story. I really enjoy films which reward you for watching, as new fragments of information are released it drags you deeper into the action and you can't wait for the next one. The cliffhanger ending is a brilliant incentive to watch Vol. 2 as well!
Let's just say I've watched it at least 10 times and I'm certain there's many more to come.
