One of the best disney movies ever made! Solid plot, great book+ great film! a MUST BUY at under a fiver!

It starts off ok and you think yeah ok this could be alright. I did watch it all the way through because I wanted to know what happend.

It has got to be one of the worst storylines that disney have ever come up with. It is so dull. All the characters have ridiculous names (Stanley Yelnats, Zero, Zig Zag) However they are quite creative and different I suppose.

Disney have made so many spectacular films, but sadly this is not one of them. It had a lot of potential of being good but it just failed. The holes camp was a good idea, but nothing great actually happens throughout the rest of film except near the end Stanley teaches Zero how to read and write, they go up the thumb cliff and they find treasure.

It is not awful but Disney have done sooo much better films than this.

I first saw this film when I was in school and I wanted to watch it again, so for the price I bought it off play instead of renting it, and it's worth the money. It's about teens in a camp where they dig holes all day long, and then due to the main character some of them get their freedom. Good film, if you haven't seen it i'd recommend it.

This is a hilarious film about a guy called Stanley Yelnats that's always in the wrong place at the wrong time. He's sent to a detention centre where he's being made to dig holes to 'build character' but soon realises that isn't the real reason why he's digging them....
A great family film, kids and adults!

i read the book 1st and then wacthed the film and i was suprised to find that the film was better than the book, the only thing wrong with the film is Sigourney Weaver who plays the warden (i imagined someone different and meaner looking to play the part of the warden)

This film had a few good fortunes thrown it's way. Before Shia LaBeouf was cast, Frankie Muniz was considered. Also, Sigourney Weaver only signed on because Holes was her daughter's favourite book at the time.

If these things had not happened, Holes would not be anywhere near as fun. Although, Tim Blake Nelson does a brilliant job, and Jon Voight's performance is actually one of the best of his career so far.

The only thing that hinders this film really is the Patricia Arquette storyline, which does make the film about twenty minutes too long, but otherwise, it's great fun - even with the kids.

Read the book, the film lives up to it! Just ordered the soundtrack from Play so looking forward to it's arrival.

this film really is fantastic. can be watched as a family. a must see and worth every penny. you can watch it more then once.

Looking at the cover, it doesn't look very interesting. But as you watch the story unfold, it is fantastic. There are some sad moments and very edge of seat gripping moments. But, it is very funny, with the characters, dialogue and more. This is a deffinate must see!! (The book is also really good)
